Happy HALF YEAR birthday, Kason!!!

Yesterday was Kason's 6 month birthday! How on Earth the last 6 months have already passed, I have no idea!! I took him to the doctor this morning for his 6 month well baby check-up and shots. My little peanut weighed in at a whopping (insert sarcasm) 16 pounds, 3 ounces (30%) and was almost 26 inches (50%). His head circumference was 17.5 inches (80%)....I guess he has a big head :) Just kidding, his head couldn't be more perfect! The doctor proclaimed him strong and healthy! She also made the comment that he looks just like his Daddy to which I replied "we haven't heard that before" (insert sarcasm again)!!! She also was impressed by his skills! He's sitting unassisted now and is almost crawling. She said that only 20% of babies his age can sit unassisted for more than 3 seconds! I knew he was a smarty!! He also got 4 shots, including a seasonal flu shot, and one oral vaccine. He cried, ok..screamed, for a minute or so and then calmed down pretty quickly once I was able to pick him up. That is my least favorite part about those visits. I hate the shots. It makes me so sad to see him in pain. So, overall the appointment was wonderful and we have a healthy, happy baby! We are VERY thankful for that!

10 on Tuesday

1. Holy Moly....my baby is sitting up!

2. Change of plans for Halloween costumes....Kenley will still be Tinkerbell, but Kason will now be Captain Hook instead of Peter Pan. I couldn't find what I needed to make his costume and I refuse to spend $40 to buy a custom made one. He'll be the cutest Hook ever!

3. Kenley can hardly wait until Halloween. She's so excited to dress up as Tink and go trick or treating for candy! I love this age!!

4. I'm also excited to Halloween. I'm looking forward to the adult costume party that we'll be going to. I'm still trying to decide on my costume, although I'm pretty sure Justin knows what he is going to be.

5. Kenley is also looking forward to a couple things at preschool this week. On Friday they are taking a trip to the pumpkin patch. She had so much fun last year! Then on Friday night they are having the November 'fun night', which will be a costume party! Once a month they do a 'fun night' where the parents pay a little extra and your child can stay until 8:30 or 10 to have a little party and do fun things! This is optional and she's never actually stayed for any of the fun nights before.

6. Kason is getting his first haircut tonight. No more Donald Trump comb-over :)

7. I'm glad to have some "fall" weather lately. It was so cold for a while, but it's normal fall temps right now. One question though....where the heck did that rain come from this morning? Pop up thunderstorms much????

8. Happy early birthday, Josh (Friday) and Amy (Sunday)!

9. Kenley will be going to Playhouse Disney Live on Sunday afternoon. Grandma Sherri bought tickets for her and Kenley and she is very excited to go see all her favorite cartoon characters. Mickey and the whole crew, Handy Manny and his tools, the Little Einsteins, and the Tigger and Pooh gang will all be there! I hope Grandma Sherri gets some good pictures of her. I'm sure she'll have SO much fun!

10. MU homecoming this weekend. I think I might take Kenley to the parade on Saturday. We'll see what the weather is like!

10 on Tuesday

1. Where did Fall go? This is NOT Fall weather....this is definitely Winter weather!

2. Justin's football season is going pretty well this year, especially compared to the last 2 seasons! With a record of 4-3...that two times as many games as they won in the last 2 years! Good job Bruins :)

3. Speaking of sports....the Missouri vs. Nebraska game was pretty crappy! It rained the whole game and we ended up losing it in the 4 quarter. What is up with that, Tigers???

4. On Saturday night we went to Justin's 10 year class reunion. It was a lot of fun!!! I'm actually surprised that I had as much fun as I did! Most of the people that I still keep in contact with weren't there, but it was really great to see some of our old friends! I mean, even if I wasn't a Kewpie....I was still around all the way through high school. I'm pretty sure some people might have even thought that I did go to Hickman!

5. I bought Kenley's Halloween costume, but I haven't been able to find what I need for Kason. Kenley will be Tinkerbell and Kason is going to be Peter Pan. The smallest Peter Pan costume I can find is 12 month size, which will totally fall off him. I guess I need to find some green pants and a green shirt and make my own. I haven't been able to find that either though. Anyone??? Know anywhere I can find green stuff for a cute little baby? Or know someone who can make what I need???

6. Justin and I are going to a costume party on Halloween too, assuming we have a babysitter! I haven't dressed up for Halloween since college, so I'm looking forward to it. We have a costume in mind, but it's a secret!!

7. Kenley's birthday is just over a month away. I really need to get to planning. She said she wants to have a My Little Pony party....imagine that!

8. I can't believe my 'baby' is almost 4 years old. Where does time go? The years keep getting faster!

9. Kason will be 6 months old at the end of this month. THAT is really crazy!

10. Looking forward to TV tonight! Biggest Loser, The Hills, The City...love it!

Mommy Confession Monday

Something new!! My confession this week......

I think that babies should be born at 5 months old! Now, I know that delivering a 15 pound baby would be hell, but 5 months is such a great age! I love the tiny baby stage for cuddling, but I'm not a huge fan of the newborn stage in general. I love that Kason is able to interact, play, laugh, etc. He is SOOOO much fun now. I wish I could keep him this age forever!

Today is the Missouri vs Nebraska football game! HUGE game...broadcast on ESPN...the only game on tonight! The kids got decked out in their tiger gear! GO TIGERS!!!

1. It's only Tuesday?

2. I just found out my friend, Lori, is having TWINS in April! Congratulations Lori and Steve! I'm so happy for you guys!

3. Happy birthday tomorrow, Mike!

4. This week has been exhausting. I'm not sure why though. I just feel like there aren't enough hours in the day! i have so much to do and so little time to get it done!

5. Thursday is the Mizzou vs. Nebraska football game. It's a huge game that we be televised on ESPN and they are expecting a TON of people. Since I work on campus, right across from the football field, we are leaving at 3 on Thursday to make room for parking. I also decided to take the day off work on Friday since the parking situation is still going to be crazy. I'm looking forward to it!

6. On Friday I am planning on having some people come give me a quote for a housekeeper. It's too much for me to keep up with right now. The little bit of free time I have I want to be playing with my kids...not cleaning!

7. The other day Kenley told me "You're ruining my life". I have no clue where she hear this....TV or a movie I guess. I thought I had at least 10 more years until I heard those words. Can you say DRAMA QUEEN? I'm scared for her teen years.

8. Congratulations to my sister, Missy, who got engaged a couple weeks ago! I totally forgot to mention it before.

9. This weekend is Justin's 10 year class reunion. I'm looking forward to it. It should be fun to see some of those people who we haven't seen forever! I have no clue about my reunion yet. I think it's being planned, but I have not heard any details about it yet.

10. Saturday Justin and the football team found out that a former team member committed suicide. It's a very sad situation all around and it was very hard on Justin. I'm thinking about Stuart's family and friends at this very hard time in their life.
