Scrub a dub dub!

Kenley and I went outside yesterday to wash my truck and play in the water! It was such a beautiful day that we wanted to do something outside. We had SO much fun! The truck got cleaned, although it needs to go through the carwash still :), and we both enjoyed the sunny day. I was able to get really cute pictures too. Enjoy!!

It's all clean and looking good! Kenley gives the day a thumbs up!

10 on Tuesday

1. I keep thinking this is Monday!

2. I hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day weekend. I know we did! We were able to get out of the house for a few hours on Saturday night, which was very nice! Then we had some friends over to BBQ on Sunday and had a blast. Not to mention that I had a new neice born on Sunday as well!

3. I'm not feeling real well today. I'm pretty sure I'm getting sick. I have a stuffy, yet runny, nose and my head is pounding. I hope it's just allergies and not something more.

4. I'm TIRED today. Kason slept ok last night, but the getting up several times a night is really starting to take it out of me. Add in the not feeling well and there you have it. I feel like I need to sleep for a whole day.

5. It's been really nice having Kenley home with me a couple days a week while I'm home on maternity leave. It's been great being able to spend some more time with her lately.

6. Kason is going to be 4 weeks old tomorrow.....where has the time gone? Seriously, he can't be 4 weeks old already???!!!

7. I hate the rain.

8. Our wedding anniversary is coming up in a couple of weeks. 5 years!! We were just saying to each other last night how it doesn't seem like it's been years already. It is crazy how quickly the time goes by these days!

Down on the farm

Our Parents as Teachers put on an event called "Down on the Farm" on Tuesday. We went to this last year and Kenley loved it! It's held at Nifong Park, where they bring in all kinds of animals that the kids and pet and watch. They also have tons of activities for the kids to participate in if they wish. Here's some of our pictures from the farm.

10 on Tuesday

1. It's WONDERFUL to be able to sleep on my stomach again. I sleep so well these days, aside from getting up for feedings!

2. I can't believe my baby is going to be 3 weeks old tomorrow. Where does the time go?

3. Happy birthday Chase Green. We had a good time at his 1st birthday party on Sunday.

4. We are going to Parents As Teachers "Down on the Farm" thing tonight. They have this huge event outdoors and have all kinds of farm animals. Kenley had a great time last year, so I know she'll love it again this year! I'll make sure to post some pics after!

5. I had a great day with my sister, Missy today. We went to the mall to have lunch and let Kenley ride the pony. Then we went out to our other sisters work to surprise her with Kason. She's been wanting me to bring the kids out there since Kason was born, so that's what we did!

6. So speaking of Missy...she'll be induced on Sunday, so I'm going to be an aunt again! Baby Olivia will be joining her cousin Kason in this big new world!

7. I am enjoying a glass of wine as I write this....oh, how I have missed my wine :)

8. Justin and I watch the movie Marley and Me on Sunday night. We both cried. It was a great movie, but it brought back many memories of our boy, Duke. We miss our boy every day and wish that he was still with us. I had dreams of how he would be the one to grow old with our family and we didn't get that. I know he would have loved Kenley and Kason.

9. I need some new clothes. There is nothing worse than a post partum body. I've lost almost all of my pregnancy weight, but my body is just gross. I hate getting myself dressed everyday. I can't wait until I am able to start working out.

10. I'm looking forward to Micah's going away party on Saturday. Justin and I are only going for a couple hours, but it will be nice to get out of the house together for a little while!

10 on Tuesday

1. Being off of work has really got me confused as to what day it is. I just now realized that it's Tuesday!

2. I really do love my job, but it has been SO nice being home! I wish I was able to work part time, but it just isn't possible right now. Oh well!

3. I haven't watched one episode of The Biggest Loser, but I'm looking forward to the finale tonight. I love to see how they have all transformed their bodies.

4. Look how little Kason looks in his car seat!
5. We have Kason's 2 week checkup tomorrow. I don't think I posted about this at all, but I hope he is gaining weight. He was born at 6 lbs 13 oz, was 6 lbs 11 oz the next day, and weighed 6 lbs 7 oz when we left the hospital. When we went in for his first checkup (5 days), he weighed 6 lbs 5 oz. The doctor wasn't too concerned since he is a bottle fed baby, but she did want me to bring him back last Friday to have a weight check. He weighed 6 lbs 8 oz at that check, so he is gaining! I hope that number continues to go up! I'll post an update after his appt.

6. I noticed that Kason's eyes are looking even more blue today than they have in the past. I hope they stay blue!! I was surprised when Kenley's eyes stayed blue. I hope he's a blonde hair/blue eyed boy....just like his sister!

7. Kenley is still doing very well being a big sister! She tells him several times a day that she loves him. It melts my heart every time :)

8. I have to brag about myself too! I gained a total of 20 pounds this pregnancy....a whopping 45 pounds LESS than I did with Kenley! I'm proud of that, to say the least, but I'm also proud to say that I have lost all but 2 pounds of that already!! I even tried on a pair of pre-pregnancy pants the other day and they fit! It took me 14 months to be able to wear my pre-pregnancy pants after Kenley was born! GO ME!!

9. I'm excited to be able to start working out soon. Even though I've lost almost all my pregnancy weight, I still want to lose more! My body shape is no where near what it was before pregnancy either....must firm up all over, especially in the belly!

10. Kenley has been playing with her favorite toys all day today....My Little Pony. She has about 100 of them and has really gotten creative when playing ponies lately. Today we were playing together with the ponies, which brings me to my totally random thought/question of the day.....why are there no boy ponies in the My Little Pony collection? Only girls!

Happy Mother's Day!!

Trying to take a picture with a sqirmy 3.5 year old and a newborn is hard!
Take 1
Take 2

I had a wonderful Mother's Day. The day started off with my mom and sisters with their families came over for brunch. Justin cooked up a large spread for breakfast that was great. I enjoyed the mimosas while visiting and listening to the girls fight over who was going to hold Kason next :) My mom loved the necklace that we got her....it's just like the one I got, only with bigger discs hand stamped with all four of her grandkids names on it. I knew she would love it!

We had a relaxing afternoon and then went out for pizza and ice cream with Mike and Sherri. Shakespeare's pizza was great, as usual, and so was Cold Stone! Kenley actually tried my chocolate shake and liked it! Sounds strange, but the girl won't ever eat any ice cream but "banilla"! Sherri loved her necklace too! It was slightly different than the other two. It's square and copper and has Kenley and Kason's names on it.

Once again I can't say how blessed I am. I have healthy kids, who I adore more than life itself, and a wonderful, loving husband. We have big families who are very involved in our lives and we wouldn't have it any other way. We love our families so much and feel very lucky to have all of our family so close. I hope all the other Moms had a great day as well!

I am so incredibly blessed!

I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful, healthy children. What more could I possibly want or need??? Kenley LOVES her baby brother! I really underestimated her reaction to him. She is always asking to hold him and giving him kisses and hugs. You can tell by the photo above that she really does love him. Kason is such a dream baby. He's so sweet and loves to snuggle (which I LOVE as well)! He rarely cries and has just been such a blessing to our family. Justin and I say all the time that we are just so lucky to have such wonderful children. I thank God everyday for all He has given us.

1. I feel so incredibly blessed right now. I have a wonderful husband and two healthy, beautiful children. Could life be any better?

2. My wonderful husband bought be the best present and gave it to me at the hospital after Kason was born. I've been wanting one of these for a while and I was so surprised that he got it. I love, love, LOVE it. It's a sterling silver necklace that is hand stamped with my kids names.

3.

4. Kenley has been really great so far....much better than I expected. She's been acting out a little for attention, but she's very into being a big sister. She tells Kason several times a day that she loves him and she wants to kiss him all the time. It's so sweet!

5. Kason has been a great baby so far. He hardly ever cries and when he does it pretty pathetic! He is a very quiet calm baby and sleeps a ton. I forget how much of the day newborns sleep. It's crazy.

6. Justin went back to work today. He was with us for 6 days, but had to go back. It was hard to get used to doing everything by myself, but I managed.

7. I am feeling pretty good today. I'm exhausted, but other than that, I feel almost as good as new. I've been having backaches almost daily that I believe are caused from the epidural, but I don't know for sure. I hope it goes away quickly because it hurts all day long everyday and it's really annoying.

8. I did the first outing today with 2 kids. It was a piece of cake :) I had to take Kenley to the doctor to have a strep test. Her preschool is requiring all the kids to be tested by Friday because they have been passing it around for weeks now. Anyway, it was negative, thank goodness. After that we ventured to the mall so I could pick up my wedding ring that I sent off to have some stones tightened. Kason slept the whole time and Kenley was great!

9. The guessing game winners! I meant to create a separate post for this, but I forgot. If you click on the icon for the guessing game you'll be able to see the winners. Auntie Christy was the overall winner....Good job Auntie!

10. Happy Cinco De Mayo!

Kason David Conyers has arrived!!!

Kason has arrived and we couldn't be happier! He is such a perfect baby boy and we are all SO very in love with him. I still can't believe that I have a SON!! A baby boy of my own. It's so amazing and I feel extremely blessed to have such a wonderful, healthy family.
I went in at 6am on Wednesday, April 29th for an induction. We got there and got settled in and were asked a million questions. The nurse tried to start my IV and ended up blowing my veins in two different spots on my right arm (I have the lovely green, blue, and purple bruises to prove it). Finally she called in another nurse to start the IV who did it in one try on the left arm. We were all set up and they started the pitocin right after 7am. I was lucky enough to have a wonderful nurse named Cheryl. I was already dilated to 3 cm before starting, so we were hoping that things would go very quickly. I was contracting pretty regularly, but I wasn't feeling too much in the beginning. Cheryl was increasing the dose of pitocin pretty regularly to get things really moving along.

About 9am Dr. Womack came in to break my water. I had progressed to 4 cm at this point. This really got things going. The contractions were coming more regularly and were becoming more painful, but still not unbearable. I contracted for a couple of hours and then decided that it was time for the epidural. Out of this whole process I was most nervous about the epidural because of the experience I had during Kenley's birth. Let's just say that I was used as a pin cushion that time and was stuck in my back more than 30 times. This experience was MUCH better and very quick. There were no tears at all and it was almost painless. However, the epidural only took on my left side of my body at first. With some time it finally took on the other side as well. I wasn't feeling much pain after that.

I was checked here and there over the next couple of hours and managed to dilate to 6 cm around 1 pm. I was laying in bed talking to my mom, sister, and Justin when all of a sudden the contractions got extremely painful on the right side. My epidural wasn't working very well on that side again and I was in a lot of pain with every contraction. They were coming every minute or so and I wasn't getting much relief in between them. The nurse, Cheryl, called anesthesiology to come in and adjust the epidural and decided to go ahead and check me again because of the pain and pressure I was feeling. I was shocked when she said I was dilated to 9 and almost ready to push. She called out to prepare the room for birth and to call Dr. Womack.

Cheryl was running around the room for the next few minutes. I was in pain and needing to push. She kept telling me not to push until the doctor got there. It was hard, I was crying and feeling everything at this point. Kason was right there and wanting to come out. He didn't want to wait anymore! The anesthesiologist came in to fix the epidural, but the nurse informed him that we were having a baby instead. No time for the fix...baby was coming now! After a couple of minutes Dr. Womack came back in and we were ready. I pushed through 1 contraction and Kason was born at 1:48 pm weighing 6 pounds, 13 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. I went from being 6 cm dilated to holding my baby within 45 minutes. It all happened very, very quickly! A total of 6 hours and 39 minutes from start to finish! Beats the crap out of the 23 hours of labor the first time :)

Kenley meeting Kason for the first time in the picture above. Kenley has been really great. Things started off a little rocky when she came to the hospital because she wanted me to go home and couldn't figure out why I wasn't coming home and she was going to Grandma's house again. She was telling her grandma things like "mommy and daddy don't love me or want me anymore" and "They don't want me to go home with them". It broke my heart, but it was short lived thankfully! She same back to the hospital that night and spent a couple of hours with us before going to grandma's. Justin ended up spending the second night at home with her instead of the original plan to stay at the hospital with me. This was better for her to get back into the routine and stay at her own house. She's been very good with Kason so far. She really just wants to touch him all the time. It's so sweet when she gives him kisses and hugs and tells him that she loves him all the time.

Daddy snuggling Kason in the hospital. This is one of both of our favorite things to do!
My new most cherished picture. This was the first night home. Kason laid in bed with Kenley while I read her a bedtime book. She was so gentle and just kept kissing and rubbing on him. That's all for now! Make sure to check back often because there will be lots of pictures and stories to com!
