Beaver Lake 2010

Justin and I out on the lake
Lauryn & Derek
The girls!!

The boys!!
Heading out to wakeboard!
Waiting to get started....
He's up!!

10 on Tuesday!

  1. We had the best time at Beaver Lake last weekend. It was just what we needed! It was a relaxing long weekend with great company. We were missing the kids, but it was still hard to leave! I told Justin that we should start taking a trip there every summer.
  2. Justin learned to wakeboard on Saturday and he did really well. It took him a couple times to get up, but once he got up, we was good to go. He was telling me how hard it was to do, so I chickened out! Maybe next time.....
  3. Having a payroll Monday when coming back from 'vacation' should be illegal!
  4. Speaking of work, it's crazy busy right now. Only a week and a half before the student staff members come back to campus. Lots to do and so little time!
  5. Justin and I are going to see Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube in concert on Friday night. We are excited! We saw Snoop when he was here in 2004 and it was a great concert. Our friend, Derek, is coming up from Tulsa to go too. It should be a good time!
  6. I hope the weekend will bring nice weather. The concert on Friday is outdoor and we have a wedding to go to on Sunday. I'm hoping it doesn't rain for the bride's sake!
  7. I am wrapping up my Scentsy party tomorrow. It was a great party and I sold WAY more than I expected to. The product is great though, so it pretty much sells itself! In fact, I like the product so much that I am going to start selling it myself. If you would be interested in having a 'basket party', just let me know!
  8. Football starts again in just 2 short weeks. I'm going to be a 'football widow' before I know it. Although I hate all of the time it keeps Justin away from us, I love that he loves it. I have a love/hate relationship with it....love going to games & the fall weather, but I hate that is consumes my husband for months. Oh well!
  9. My sister has boxer puppies at her house right now! Her dogs, Mia and Alex, had 8 puppies on July 15. 4 boys and 4 girls. If you know anyone who might be interested in a boxer puppy, let me know. There are still 7 available!
  10. The Boone County Fair is in town right now. I love the fair and so does Kenley! I hope we are going to be able to make it there one of these evenings. In order for that to happen, it needs to stop raining!!!

10 on Tuesday!

  1. Happy birthday, Jason! Happy 31st wedding anniversary to my in laws, Mike and Sherri!
  2. Along those same lines, we enjoyed Jason's birthday party on Saturday night. It was fun to get together with our friends again. Thanks for the party guys!!
  3. This week has been crazy at work. Payroll has been all screwed up, but I think it's fixed now. We shall see when I get to work in the morning!
  4. I am having a Scentsy basket party right now. Have you ever heard of Scentsy? It's a flame less/wick less candle and they smell amazing! If you would like to check it out, or place an order, go HERE! If you place an order on the link in this post, it will be tied to my party. I'm telling you, you have no idea what you are missing!
  5. We had a nice weekend. As you could tell, our trip to the zoo was fun. Both of the kids, and parents, were exhausted by the end of the day though. And in case you were wondering, Kenley is still obsessed with Cuddles!
  6. Justin is going to be gone starting Thursday night through Saturday night for football camp in Tennessee. I can't say that I am happy about this, but I guess he has to go. I have no clue what I am going to do all weekend!
  7. Kenley is going on a field trip at preschool tomorrow. They are going to Bethel Park for a few hours and will have a picnic. She is excited for tomorrow!
  8. I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow to get my thyroid medication adjusted. I went in for lab work last week and just got the results back today. I'm low again. It's funny how this stuff works.
  9. Justin and I are both very excited for our trip next weekend. It's been a LONG time since we went anywhere for a mini vacation. Next weekend can't come soon enough!
  10. That's about all I have this week! Hope everyone has a fantastic week!

Lions & Tigers & Bears.....Oh My!!

On Friday, July 9th, I took the day off work and we headed to the zoo. It was Kason's first trip and it was a little challenging. It was hot and he wanted nothing to do with the stroller. Justin and I spent most of the day passing him back and forth and pushing around two empty strollers. All in all, it was a great trip though. We had lots of fun and it was great to spend a day together with the whole family! While at the zoo, we saw......

Lions (see the one in the tree?).....

Tigers.....

& Bears....Oh my!!

While we were at the zoo, Kenley had her first ever Build A Bear experience! She talked the whole day about how she wanted to buy a panda bear. She brought a purse with some of her own money to buy something that she wanted. She spotted a panda through the window and remembered it all day. We finally made a trip there and made the bear!

If you've never been, it's really cool! They let the child push the pedal to fill the animal with stuffing, then you put a heart in it and do this little song with it. After you finish that, you get on the computer and make a birth certificate, complete with the name you pick!

Meet Cuddles.....the cute pink ballerina panda that Kenley is completely in love with!

Kenley's favorite thing about the whole trip was riding the train. She couldn't stop talking about riding the train and she loved every minute of it while we were riding!

Kason wasn't sure if he loved it or hated it. He sat still when we went through the tunnels, but wanted to stand up while the train was moving. We had a short period where we had to pass him back and forth while he threw a fit. His favorite part of the day was watching the penguins, which he kept calling 'puppy'...lol!

Even though it was a SUPER hot that day, we had a great trip!

We also met some of my friends and their kids at the zoo. It was my first time meeting Amber and her kiddos, as well Julie and her kiddos, and Lisa's kids. I have met Lisa once before and we really hit it off. I knew that we would all get along great and I figured all of the kids would as well. I was right....the kids had a blast and it was great to finally meet the girls I have known for years online!

This is Kenley with Ella, and then Kenley with Ella & Perry. Ella & Perry are the twin daughters of Amber and they were born just 2 weeks before Kenley. Amber and I have said for a long time that they would be fast friends if they ever met, and they proved us right! They had such a great time together. In fact, Kenley and Ella walked around holding hands for an hour or so. I think Perry had a slight crush on Justin too....she held his hand for awhile as well!

10 on Tuesday!

  1. What a wonderful weekend! We had so much fun this past weekend that I wish I could replay it over and over again. I wish everyday was a 3 day weekend!
  2. On Saturday we went to the spray park at Stephens Lake Park. We hadn't been there before, but Kenley has been talking about her friends going and she's been asking when she could go! It was really cool! It's basically a big open area with fountains spraying water from the ground. Kason really enjoyed it since he isn't a huge fan of big open bodies of water, and Kenley also had a blast. I even met a new friend, Paige, who just moved here. She was asking about things to do with kids in this area and we ended up exchanging phone numbers. We're going to get together sometime soon! Yay for new friends!
  3. We had a movie night on Saturday after Kason went to bed. We watched Toy Story 2 with Kenley. She had only seen it a couple times before Saturday night, but she narrated the whole movie to Justin and I. Well, not the whole movie since she fell asleep! We decided that for the next movie night, we'll watch a movie that Kenley hasn't seen before!
  4. Our 4th of July was great. Kenley and I spent the day shopping with Allyson and then went to Mike and Sherri's house for a BBQ. Neither of the kids were a fan of the fireworks that we shot off. The very first one made a whistling noise and shot in the air and scared the crap out of Kenley. She went running into the house crying. They both enjoyed the 'Fire in the Sky' though!
  5. On Monday we all went to Mike and Sherri's house for haircuts. I got a cut and color, which was very much needed! Kenley and Kason both got their hair trimmed. After the family cuts, Kenley and I went to see Toy Story 3 in 3D! It was a great movie that we both enjoyed. I admit it, I even cried a little!
  6. I'm pretty sure Kason has another molar that getting ready to pop through the skin. He's been a little cranky lately and has been whining a little in his sleep. I was feeling around in his mouth tonight and the last molar feels like it right under the skin!
  7. I took the day off work on Friday and we are taking the kids to the St. Louis zoo. I'm so excited!! We didn't get a chance to go last year because we were just too busy. Kenley is really excited too....I wonder how Kason will do! It's a long car ride, followed by a long day in the sun, followed by a long car ride back. I hope he loves it!
  8. This Saturday we have plans to go to our friend, Jason's, birthday party. The kids are spending the night with my sister, Christy, so we can hang out. Kason hasn't ever spent the night there and Kenley has only stayed a few times. I know Kenley is excited, but not nearly as excited as Christy is!
  9. We just planned a trip to visit our friends, Derek and Lauryn, at Beaver Lake (in Arkansas) in a couple weeks. Derek and Lauryn live in Tulsa, but Lauryn's family has a lake house there. We went one other time, in March 2005, right before I found out I was pregnant with Kenley. We are excited to go this time because we'll actually be able to go out on the lake! The kids will spend the weekend with my parents!
  10. Not much else happening here. Just hoping that the week goes by quickly so we can enjoy the weekend!

Happy 4th of July!!

We had a great 4th of July! Kenley and I spent the day shopping with Allyson, then we went to Mike and Sherri's for a BBQ. We stopped on the way there to buy some small fireworks....Kenley was so excited! After we ate and hung out for a while, we went out front to shoot the fireworks off. The first one, the flying pig, scared both of the kids to death. It shot in the air and made that whistling noise. Kenley ran into the house crying and Kason was crying too. It took a few minutes to get them calmed down, but Kason did better for the rest of them. Kenley spent a while in the house and then finally came out to watch the 'princess tiara' fountain that she picked out. She wouldn't even get close to the road though. I sat with her on the porch and covered her ears, just in case it was loud. She actually really enjoyed it!

After we finished our fireworks we went to the 'Fire in the Sky' show. We have gone for years and Kenley has always enjoyed it. We park on the top of a parking garage and throw a blanket in the back of the truck. We all sat there and watched the show, which was pretty good! Kason fell asleep on the way there since it was WAY past his bedtime, but he woke up as soon as the show started. I think he enjoyed it too! My mom and pops met us there, and Jason and Allyson went with us too!

I really wanted to get a family shot, but it didn't happen. I did, however, get a shot of me with each of the kids. I think they turned out pretty good!

Float Trip 2010

Justin & I ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jason & Allyson
Erin & Adrian ~~~~~~~~~~ Candice & Paul

Cindy & JD ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Josh & Natalie

This year we decided to try a different place that we hadn't been to before. We went to Steelville, MO and stayed at a place called The Rafting Company. They place was really nice and we had a great campsite right next to the river. We got there, set up camp, and then we got on the water! We had a great float and there were tons of people on the river. It was totally different than the place we had been going because we hardly saw anyone on that river!

When we got off the water, we all showered, then went back to camp and eat. We sat around the fire for awhile, but I think everyone passed out pretty early. It happens almost every year! Over all, a great float trip for 2010!
