10 on Tuesday

  1. I am so happy for this beautiful weather this week. Today is 75 and sunny, tomorrow is 80 and sunny! It's about damn time Spring showed up!!
  2. This week is spring break which means that Justin gets to stay home with the kids while I get my butt up and drag myself to work everyday. It sucks!! I am hoping to take a day or two off later this week so we can hang out though.
  3. I am getting ready to have a massive garage sale. I'm getting rid of all the baby stuff and tons of clothes and toys. I haven't decided when it will be yet, but it will be soon! I'm going to start getting things ready now!
  4. It's almost mowing season! Justin has been preparing for mowing this week. It won't be long and he'll be busy, busy.
  5. We attended our friends, Casey & Lance's, wedding on Saturday night. It was really nice and we had a good time. I ran into a lot of people that I haven't seen for a very long time!
  6. Kenley is shooting a new Plaza Dental commercial on Thursday! She's so excited to do it. It only airs on Mediacom though and because we have DirecTv, we don't ever get to see it on the tv. That kind of stinks!
  7. So I heard yesterday that Ricky Martin came out of the closet. Are we supposed to be surprised by this news? I know that I am not.
  8. I can't believe that Easter is this Sunday! Crazy that it's almost April already!
  9. Justin outside power washing the deck last night so he can stain it tomorrow. Kenley played outside on her swing set by herself the whole time he was out there. It's really nice that she's at an age now that she can entertain herself! She finally learned how to pump her legs while swinging so she doesn't need anyone to push her anymore! She's not a baby anymore!
  10. I can't really think of anything else to say, so I'll end with this: Happy Easter!!

Happy 11 Month Birthday, Kason!

Rub a dub dub, havin fun playin the 'tub'

I can't believe my baby is 11 months old already. Where has the time gone?? This past month has been a busy one for Kason. He took his first steps right after he turned 10 months old, but really didn't start walking until the last couple days. He's very unsteady, but he's gained a lot of confidence and is taking lots and lots of steps now. It's funny because he walks kind of sideways since he's been 'cruising' on the furniture for months now. He hasn't figured out that he needs to walk totally forward. I'm going to try to get a video of it because it's cute! He also FINALLY starting saying Mama!! I've been waiting for what seems like forever to hear those words and now he says them all the time! He also got in 2 more teeth this past month, for a total of 6 teeth! He was at the doctor last week for what I thought was an ear infection (it wasn't) and weighed 21 pounds even. He's a big boy now!! We are working hard on planning his first birthday party now. I can't believe it already time for that!

10 on Tuesday

  1. I am insanely jealous of my In-laws who are on vacation in Mexico right now! I wish I was sitting on the beach sipping on yummy frozen drinks!
  2. Because Sherri is on vacation, we had to find someone to watch the kids this week (Monday-Wednesday). My mom took off work on Monday and Tuesday and Justin is taking off tomorrow. Since my mom lives in Ashland, it worked out better for the kids to spend the night with her. I dropped them off around 3 on Sunday and they are coming home tonight after I get off work. I miss those little boogers!!
  3. The house was really strange without the kids for 2 days. Justin and I just sat and looked at each other and said "this is weird"! We were able to watch a movie at 5pm on Sunday and just sit on the couch the rest of the evening. It was definitely a change from the normal!
  4. My little guy is almost 11 months old now. I can't believe it. We are having his birthday party on April 25th, so put it on your calendar! I can't believe I am already planning his first birthday party!
  5. Even though Kason took his first steps a few weeks ago, he still isn't walking. He'll take a few steps here and there, but then he'll sit and start crawling! He knows that he can do that much faster. What can I say? He's a smart little guy!
  6. Spring break next week. I wish I got a spring break :(
  7. I can't believe how quickly our summer is filling up already! Justin is extremely busy with football and he only has a few open weekends all summer. We've already booked them up with a float trip and hopefully a trip to visit our friends, Derek and Lauryn, at their lake house in Arkansas.
  8. My chiropractic care is going pretty well. I was extremely sore for the first week, and still have my moments, but I haven't had a headache for over a week now. That's big considering I was having headaches almost every single day.
  9. I finally bought Kenley a new quilt for her bed since out cat threw up on the last one and ruined it. It's really pretty and looks so much better in her room than the first one did. I'll post a picture of it soon!
  10. Saturday night our friends, Casey and Lance, are getting married. I'm excited to go to the wedding and hang out with old friends that I never see. Congratulations, Casey!

Who knew??

It all started when I was pregnant with Kason. I had horrible low back pain and even worse Sciatica. Once I gave birth, I hadn't noticed either bothering me to badly until I started running/walking back in January. My back was hurting on almost a daily basis...so badly that it was keeping me up at night sometimes. I was also having a hard time running because my left leg would hurt so badly and it would ache for hours after I finished. On top of this I was having almost daily headaches that may or may not have been related. Many people told me that I should see if a chiropractor could help with these issues. I put it off for a long time, but finally decided to take their advice.

I made an appointment with Dr. Aaron Boehmer earlier this week and I am so happy I did! After having an exam and x-rays, I learned that I have a twist in the middle of my back and one of my hips are 7mm higher than the other one. This is why I have been having the back and leg pain. I've been in a couple times to have adjustments and although I am VERY sore right now, I know I am going to be feeling so much better in the next few weeks. I was nervous at first, but it was a great choice for me. I lay in a traction therapy table for 3 minutes and then to the room for adjustments. I haven't had a headache in 3 days...coincidence?? He told me that I would be really sore for the first week, but it would get better. I'm happy to know that I have an answer for my pain and even happier to know that it will soon be a thing of the past!

Just call Kason Houdini!

Last night I took our dogs for a 3 mile walk/jog, so I was gone for about 45 minutes. At the time I left Justin was giving the kids a bath. The way we baths most of the time is Kenley will get in (I put her in before I left) and play for a while, then we'll stick Kason in with her for a couple minutes. We'll get him dressed while she's still in the bath (All the rooms are right next to each other, so we can see/hear her), and then go back to get her out. Last night Justin put Kason in the exersaucer with a baby einstein movie so he could get Kenley out.

I am just getting home from the walk and I'm in the garage taking the harnesses and leashes off the boys. I do one dog, let him in, close the door, and then do the other dog. Meanwhile Justin is rinsing Kenley's hair, but said that he heard Kason close the bathroom. He sees one of the dogs, so he thinks it's fine because I am in the house. He yells for me to make sure, but I am still in the garage at this point and don't hear him. He steps out to check on Kason because he heard him again and finds Kason 4 steps down on our stairs. He's crawling down the stairs on his belly, head first. My little houdini managed to escape his exersaucer and get down the stairs by himself. We do have a gate at the top of the stairs, but it was open because he was in the exersaucer. I have no clue how he managed to escape the exersaucer and it scares to to death to think that he could have easily fallen down our stairs. He's such a climber that I am scared to think of all the trouble he will get into once he's walking! What an ornery little man!

10 on Tuesday: 10 (or more) things you might not know about me!

Since today is my birthday, I thought it would be fun to tell you 10 things you might not know about me! Before I start though, I want to wish my friend, Kate, a happy birthday! Her birthday was yesterday! Also a happy birthday to Grandma Joanna! She's turning 70 on Thursday! Love you, Grandma Jo!

I hope I can come up with 10 things.....Here goes nothing!
  1. I was born at 7:21 pm and weighed only 5 pounds, 15 ounces.
  2. I was a cheerleader for 6 years and I miss it sometimes. I have some really great cheerleading memories with some of my best friends!
  3. I've had 3 speeding tickets in my lifetime. One of those came from a cop on a bicycle!
  4. I've been with Justin for more than half my life. We started dating when I was 13 and today I am 29! Not everyone finds their soul mate so young <3
  5. I am VERY allergic to poison ivy. I swear I get it if it's just blowing in the wind. I had it so badly one time that my eyes swelled shut and my throat was starting to as well. Scary stuff! The first sign on poison ivy now and I go straight to the doctor for a steroid shot.
  6. When I was little I did not like to be dirty. My sisters would be outside playing in the dirt, but I would stay inside and play with my dolls.
  7. I found a barn pigeon with a broken wing when I was little and nursed him back to health. His name was Flyer and that's exactly what he did when he was well. I also used to own a pot belly pig named Crisco.
  8. I was voted 'Best Hair' and 'Most Outgoing' when I was a senior in high school.
  9. It took me 3 tries to pass my drivers test, but the third time I got a 98%! My first car was a 1986 Ford Mustang. It was a piece of crap that broke down every other day. I've had 6 cars since then!
  10. I talk to my mom at least one time every single day. Usually it's more than once though and we talk on email everyday as well!
  11. I've never had a broken bone...unless you count the possible broken nose from Kason!
  12. I graduated High School with honors, but I didn't do all that well in college. I partied way too much.
  13. I was a smoker until I got pregnant with Kenley. I quit 5 years ago on March 27!
  14. I have 20/20 vision.
  15. I am not a very good swimmer.

New Plaza Dental commercial coming soon!

Some of you may remember that Kenley was in a Plaza Dental commercial almost 2 years ago, but it is still airing now. My best friend, Allyson, sells advertising for OnMedia (Mediacom cable) and asked if she could be in the commercial. It turned out so cute! Well, Allyson just asked if Kenley could be in the new commercial that they are planning on shooting next week!! SO EXCITED!! I'll definitely post the new one as soon as I have it, but in the mean time, check out my TV star from the last one!

10 on Tuesday

  1. Congratulations to Kyle and Angie who are expecting another baby in October! We are happy for you guys!
  2. I'm pretty sure Kason broke my nose on Sunday. I was sitting on the couch holding him while he was standing on my legs. He grabbed the tv remote and hit me right in the nose with it....HARD! Since then my nose has been hurting like hell and I have a huge bump on the right side of it. If it's not better in a couple days I will be going to the doctor to have it checked out.
  3. Kason is cutting 2 teeth right now. Early last week his top right tooth pocked through and then 2 days later the top left came in. I'm pretty sure he'll be getting the two on the bottom any day now!
  4. Other BIG news about Kason....he took his first steps on Saturday!!! He did it first for Justin and then I got him to do it again. Since then he's taken a couple steps here and a couple steps there, but he's not very confident. He could do it if he wanted to, he just really doesn't realize it.
  5. I was really sick last week. I finally went to the doctor on Wednesday and was diagnosed with a sinus infection and a severe ear infection. In fact, my ear was so infected that my ear drum was bulging and the doctor told me that it would likely rupture. It didn't, but it still isn't totally healed. I am so happy to be feeling better!
  6. Tomorrow is my dad's birthday....Happy birthday, Dad!
  7. Speaking of birthday's, today is my friend Kim's birthday. Kim has been a good friend of mine since I was about 11 or 12 years old. In fact, she introduced me to Justin and we all know how that turned out!
  8. Since before I became a blogger myself, I have followed many blogs of people I know and don't know. It wasn't until recently that I came across a blog for Layla Grace. Layla was a healthy 16 month old until last year when her parents found out she had cancer. After many surgeries, a bone marrow transplant, plus chemo and radiation, she was cancer free for a while. In January they found out that the cancer came back and was really, really bad. Layla lost her journey to cancer early this morning. It's really amazing how much I am effected by a child that I have never met. I honestly believe that it's because I am a mother and I will ALWAYS mourn the loss of a child. I feel broken hearted knowing that her parents and her sisters are dealing with her death. Life is just unfair sometimes, but I am thankful that Layla is no longer in pain.
  9. March has been a busy, busy month for me. We have several birthday's, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, and a wedding to attend. Who knew?
  10. Please, please, please let this be the beginning of spring. The weather has been so incredibly nice and I actually broke out the flip flops! I could do without the rain, but I'll take it over the snow and cold weather any day!!

10 on Tuesday

  1. It's my birthday month!! It's my birthday month!!
  2. I'm sick. I've been fighting this thing for a couple days now and it's not any fun. My head is pounding, my throat hurts, my nose is running like a water faucet, and I can't breathe. I guess I expected this. My kids have been sick all winter and I've been lucky enough to not catch it. It was my turn!
  3. Anyone watch The Bachelor last night. I used to like Jake, but after watching the whole season....he's kind of a tool and I think he and Vienna deserve each other!
  4. I'm on the search for new bedding for Kenley's room. The cat threw up on her bedding and the stains will not come out. Her room is pink and brown...anyone want to help me find something new??
  5. It's supposed to be up over 50 degrees this weekend. I see open windows and playing outside in our future! I can't wait!!
  6. Now that the Olympics are over we are getting our shows back. The Biggest Loser starts again tonight!! YAY!
  7. Speaking of TV, we just got a DVR on Friday. I've been wanting one forever and DirecTV finally gave me a free one after I called to tell them I was cancelling my service! Hey, whatever works, right? We are loving being able to record shows and being able to pause live tv. It's wonderful!
  8. Sherri just called to tell me that Kason has a fever. Great...I hope it's just a fever related to teething.
  9. Finally got our taxes done over the weekend. We are getting back more this year than we ever have before. Too bad we don't get to do anything fun with it. It's all going into the daycare/preschool fund.
  10. I almost forgot. We went to the Tim McGraw/Lady Antebellum concert on Thursday night. It was a GREAT show and we had a really good time. I have a few good pictures that I'll try to post soon. If you ever get a chance to see Tim, GO. He really knows how to rock it!!

Happy 10 month birthday, Kason!

Happy 10 month birthday, Kason!! Funny thing this month....he doesn't actually have a 10 month birthday since there aren't 29 days in February! Kason is ALL OVER THE PLACE these days. You can't turn your head on him for one second! He's figured out how to climb now, so he climbs in the 'book basket' and stands on top of the books to reach the magazines and remotes on the end table. The other day he was stuck upside down in his toy box!! He's a mess!!
Kason went to the doctor a couple weeks ago because he was sick again with a sinus infection. He weighed 20 pounds, 4 ounces already!!! He was there only 2.5 weeks before that for his 9 month check-up and weighed 19 pounds even at that appointment. He's definitely a growing boy!! In other news, he's getting another tooth too. I can see the white just under his gums, but it's hasn't broken the skin yet. Walking is just around the corner...I just know it. He's pushing his toys (or the laundry basket) around the house like crazy. He's even started to stand by himself for about 30 seconds at a time. I'm so not ready for him to walk. Where did my baby go? He's almost a toddler now!!
It's kind of hard to get a good picture at this age. He's on the go so much that he won't hold still for a second! Here's a couple others from our photo shoot last night!
Playing with the rocking horse! He LOVES this thing!!

Rocking on the horse......you can see how much he loves it by his expression in this photo!

For some reason he likes to chew on the handles...lol!
