Wordless Wednesday

As I said yesterday, the kids had a blast playing with the sand and water table on Sunday. Kason was soaked from head to toe! Kenley kept getting mad because Kason was splashing and getting her all wet. Fun times! I see many, many more hours of fun playing with this thing!
Tell me that's not a face of a happy boy!

Kenley just propped her feet up and bossed Kason around!

Splashing....

More splashing!

Kenley striking a pose again :)

The end!

10 on Tuesday

  1. Today is my Monday. I was off work yesterday because Kenley was sick. I picked her up early from preschool on Friday because her tummy hurt and she had a fever. She slept almost all afternoon on Friday. Saturday when she woke up she was complaining of her throat hurting. I looked at it and it was bad! I made a doctor appointment for her because I was sure she had strep. The strep test came back negative and the doctor said it was just a virus. She continued to cry every time she swallowed and ran a fever on Saturday. Yesterday her throat still looked horrible, so I took her back to the doctor. The doctor, a different one from Saturday's visit, said that it was a virus too. He actually told me what it was though. Herpangina.....basically it's the same virus that causes hand foot mouth disease, but it has a different name since it only effects the mouth. She has swollen glads and blisters all over. Her throat still looks bad today, but it's not hurting very much anymore. Poor girl. She was pretty much pitiful all weekend! I'm glad she's feeling better!
  2. We still had a decent weekend despite Kenley being sick. We were able to get outside a bit and enjoy the weather. Kenley and I gave the dogs a bath outside with the water hose. She thought that was pretty fun. After that, I washed the deck with the hose and Kenley played on her swing set while I sprayed her with the hose. Then I pulled weeds in her play area and raked all the rocks. It's on a slight slope so when it rains the rocks get washed to one end. That was a big project! I have a blister on my thumb to prove it!
  3. I started going through all of Kason's clothes for the garage sale. Man, that boy has tons of clothes! I didn't realize how many until I had my entire living room floor covered with them!
  4. Kason got a sand and water table from my parents for his birthday. We just got it put together over the weekend and the kids were able to play in it. We don't have the sand yet, so I just filled both sides with water. Kason LOVED it. He was soaked from head to toe because he wouldn't stop splashing. Kenley enjoyed playing in it too, but she kept getting mad at Kason for splashing her!
  5. Kason got another tooth on Sunday. It finally broke through the skin. It's the bottom left tooth now, for a total of 8!
  6. Memorial weekend is coming up!! I can't wait for the 3 day weekend, even though we don't have any plans. I am just excited to have an extra day with the family and the weather is supposed to be awesome!
  7. I don't have much more to write about, so I am going to end with a couple pictures from the weekend!
  8. Kenley, Madison, and Kylie at Olivia's birthday party. Great picture!!!
  9. My aunt and uncle's blue great done, Greta. She was so sweet. They rescued her from an abused home last year and she just had surgery to remove a mass from her abdomen. She's really skinny still, but she's doing great. Kason loved her!! I thought it was funny that she's bigger than he is, so it was only fitting to get a picture of the two of them!
  10. Kenley posing for the camera when we were outside giving the dogs a bath. She thought is was so much fun to spray me with the hose!

Happy first birthday, Olivia!!

My niece, Olivia, turned 1 today! She had a great birthday party at a park yesterday. It was HOT, but all of the kids had a great time playing. Olivia looks like she really enjoyed her cake too! They had to wash her down with bottled water because she was so messy! Aunt J loves you!
These are 2 pictures from her BIRTHday, 1 year ago! Olivia and proud big sister, Kylie.

10 on Tuesday

  1. Where to start.....this week has been crazy busy. I've barely had time to breathe at work! The students aren't here now and that means I have tons to do! I am the busiest when the students are gone for summer and all of the breaks.
  2. We went to the Parents as Teachers Spring Carnival tonight. We had a great time. There were lots of little games to play and tons of kids everywhere! They even had balloon animals and face painting. Kenley's favorite thing was the face painting. Kason's favorite thing was pushing around a wagon!
  3. I think it's safe to say that we are all feeling better finally! Kason has been sleeping well and is definitely feeling better in every way. I am feeling better, but I still don't feel 100% yet. I still have a cough that I am sure will stick around for a while longer. I am sleeping better though, so that helps!
  4. I can't remember if I posted this already, but Kenley got her costume for her dance recital a couple weeks ago. She's SO excited for it, although I think the thing she is the most excited about is that she gets to wear make-up! They started working on their routine and it's super cute. They are dancing to 'Never Smile at a Crocodile'.
  5. I'm know that I am not the only one thinking this....the rain. Go away. I am SOOO sick of the rain. It's making the yard a muddy mess and it's making Justin behind on mowing! It's supposed to pour again tomorrow and Thursday. Ugh.
  6. We had a great time at Candice and Paul's wedding on Saturday. It was raining (surprise, surprise), but the rain held off long enough for the outdoor ceremony. Everything was gorgeous, but the most gorgeous site was the bride! Thanks for letting us celebrate with you guys!
  7. Justin only has 12 more days of school left. Lucky!!
  8. Kenley has been such a big girl lately. She's really turning a corner. She's been brushing her teeth and getting ready for bed all by herself, without me asking her. She's been really good about helping do things and not whining about it. She even lays in her bed and reads a few books, then she'll turn out the lamp on her own and go to sleep.
  9. One day last week we ran out of Kenley's pull ups. She's been day time potty trained since she was just over 2 years old, but she still wears a pull up to bed because she is a very deep sleeper. I didn't realize we were out until bedtime and I was sick, so I was not going to buy any at that time. She slept in her bed without one for the first time. It didn't go so well. We'll just say that I had to change her sheets twice during the night. We got pull ups the next day, lol. That said, she's woke up dry the past 5 out of 6 nights. She's really trying and I think she is getting really close!
  10. This weekend is my neice, Olivia's, first birthday party. She'll be one on Monday! We are all looking forward to her birthday party!

10 on Tuesday

  1. I had a great Mother's Day this year. Justin and the kids surprised me with a nice card and a pair of rain boots (something I wanted). Since Justin worked most of the day, I spent the morning at my moms house with the kids. We had breakfast and played on the new trampoline. Both kids loved the trampoline and I enjoyed spending the time with my momma!
  2. I woke up on Sunday with a sore throat. As the day progressed, I started getting very congested. I pretty much felt like crap by the end of the day. I slept with tissues stuffed in my nose because it was running like a faucet. Monday I pretty much felt the same way. I couldn't breathe, my head felt like it was going to explode, and my ear was hurting. I was taking some over the counter meds and apparently they helped because I feel better today. I still have a sinus headache, but I can breathe again and I am not as congested.
  3. Justin and Kenley haven't been feeling great either. Justin completely lost his voice for almost a week, but it's back now. Kenley has been coughing and sneezing for days, and her eyes are dry all around them. She's been taking allergy meds for a few days now. Hoping it doesn't get worse.
  4. Saturday we are going to a wedding for our friends, Candice and Paul. I'm excited for the night out with my husband and I am looking forward to celebrating with the happy couple. I can't wait to see the bride as I am sure she will be absolutely stunning!
  5. Work is still crazy busy right now. Only 1 more week of the students on campus!! It's kind of strange when they are gone, but I like that it's quiet and I can get lots done!
  6. I really need a maid and a laundry fairy. I swear the laundry is never ending. I feel like that's the thing that I am ALWAYS working on. At least a couple nights a week and then all weekend long and I still can't keep up with it. The house isn't terrible, but I never feel like it's super clean. I just don't feel like I have the time, or energy, to spend cleaning the whole house. I'd rather play with my babies!!
  7. What's up with this weather lately? We've gone from air conditioning to heat, and back, more than 1 time. So strange!!
  8. Kenley got in trouble today because she kicked her brother in the head today. It was hard enough that he had a pretty large goose egg and will more than likely have a black eye. I think the jealously is really starting to kick in now. Not exactly sure what to do about all of that.
  9. Kason got another tooth last week! That makes number 7. Tonight when we got home I noticed that he felt hot. I took his temperature and it was 101.5. Sherri said that he didn't eat well today and was not himself all day. I really, really hope that he's not getting sick again. I am hoping it's all due to another tooth getting ready to pop up. Keep your fingers crossed!!
  10. I honestly don't remember if I posted about all the issues we were having with the transition to milk, but I am not going to go into detail about it right now. I will just say that it's been over a month of trial and error with different types of milk (soy, rice, whole). Finally, I think we have the winner (knocking on wood)! 2% milk seems to be ok for him. He's drinking it without any issues and doesn't seem to be having any problems digesting it. It has been a long 6 weeks trying to figure it all out!!

10 on Tuesday!

  1. Kason had his one year checkup yesterday. It was a good visit, except the shots and blood draw! He weighs 20 lbs, 12 oz (25%), is 29 in (40%), and his head measured 19 in (95% Ha, my big head boy!). He had 3 shots and had to get a finger prick. Those things didn't go over so well! Doctor said he is a healthy boy! That wasn't exactly the case though, but that's going to be number two!
  2. On Sunday morning when I went in Kason's room he was covered in puke...even in his hair! He had thrown up in his crib at some point. Poor guy! He definitely didn't feel well and honestly, still doesn't feel great today! He threw up 2 more times on Sunday, but hasn't thrown up since then. He has been cranky, clingy, and had no appetite for the last 3 days. Hopefully he's on the mend now.
  3. I can't remember if I posted this or not, but his favorite thing to do is throw things down the stairs. We have a gate at the top and he stands there all the time throwing things down. Before he went to bed tonight he was taking the dirty clothes out of the basket and throwing all of them down the stairs and in the trash can!
  4. Kenley is super excited for her dance recital on June 19. She got her costume last Saturday and keeps asking everyday if she can wear it! It's really, really cute!
  5. Kenley is such a girly girl. She wants to wear a dress every single day and gets so mad when I tell her she can't!
  6. I got my hair cut and colored on Sunday. I needed it in a BAD way! I didn't get a new cut, just a trim, but I did get some highlights. It's amazing what a cut and color can do for me!
  7. Mother's Day on Sunday.....what are you getting your mom? I need some ideas for my mother in law. I know what I am getting my mom already.
  8. And speaking of Kenley dancing.....she's dancing around to American Idol in the living room as I type.
  9. I am hoping for better weather this weekend. The last 2 weekends have been horrible and rainy. Can't we get some warm weather and sunshine??
  10. Kason is loving his new toys from his birthday party! He's finally got some new things to play with and neither of us could be happier about that!
