10 on Tuesday

My, my, my...It's been a long time. I'm going to try to start up again at the request of my momma :) Love you, momma! Here are some highlights of the last two years....

  1. Justin started his job at the Head Football Coach at Battle High. To top that off, we won the Class 5 State Championship this year, in only our second year of existence as a school and in our first year of playoff eligibility! How awesome is that? Way to go, Spartans!! I could not be more proud of Justin and his team!
  2. Kason started Kindergarten this year! His teacher says he is smart and sassy...which we already knew! He's doing really well though, other than getting in trouble for talking all the time. Can't say I'm surprised on that one! LOL
  3. We went on our first family vacation on Spring Break 2014. To say it was fabulous is an understatement. We went to Orange Beach, Alabama (Gulf Shores area) and although the weather wasn't as warm as we would have liked, we were able to play on the beach/in the ocean, got para-sailing (even Kason who was only 4), go on a freezing cold Dolphin Cruise, ride the HUGE Ferris wheel at The Wharf, play laser tag/ride bumper boats/race go karts, feed and hold alligators and spend tons of money on souvenirs at "Alvin's Island." Can't wait to go back when it's warmer!
  4. We finally finished our basement in our new house, too! OMG, are we in love! We use it more than I thought we would and it is so nice to have it done. I'll probably make a post about this process sometime in the future!
  5. I got a promotion. YAY! My boss retired back in August 2014 and I got promoted to her job. I moved to a bigger office with a double window and have been extremely busy, but loving my new job!
  6. Justin was voted the Class 5 Coach of the Year in Missouri, as well as our district Coach of the Year, and is in the running currently for the "Best of Columbia High School Coach of the Year" as well! So proud of him as I already mentioned!
  7. Kason learned to ride his bike with no training wheels. It took very little time and he's never looked back.
  8. Justin and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary back in June. Holy cow....10 years! Hoping to get to take that trip with him like we were supposed to last year but we decided to finish the basement instead!
  9. We were able to take the kids on several mini vacations in the last two year as well. We spent a couple weekends in St. Louis including a Cardinal games, the zoo, The City Museum and the Arch. We also have started taking the kids on a yearly float trip and that has been tons of fun as well!
  10. We have all been in good health and have enjoyed the past two years. Here's to keeping up with this blog :)

10 on Tuesday!

  1. I know, I know. It's been a long time. I just spent quite awhile updating my blog template to something fall-ish and updating the 2 year old pictures of my and my family (if you are getting this via feeder - go my my blog to check it out)! I know I have said it a bunch, but I am really going to put forth an effort to start blogging regularly again. I know, I know.....you'll believe it when you see it. Ha! Same here :)
  2. Today is my brother in law, Josh's, birthday. He's 25 years old. When I met him, he was a 7 year old who got the biggest kick out of annoying his older brother. He's grown up to be a pretty cool guy though :) Happy birthday, Josh!
  3. This Friday is the first 'district' football game for the bruins. They have had a pretty good season, 6-3, this year. From now on it's 'one and done' meaning if they lose, their season ends. Hopefully they will win every week from now until the state championship game on black Friday! That would be the ultimate way to end Justin's 9th and final year at Rock Bridge!
  4. Since I'm on the subject of football....Battle High School is coming together!! The school is looking good and now the athletic turf is installed! Justin has been working REALLY hard on getting all of the weight room and football stuff ready to be purchased. We absolutely cannot wait until next year!!
  5. Kenley's birthday is coming up in less than 4 weeks (she's counting down) and we are busy planning her birthday party! She's having it at a place called "The Canvas On Broadway" which is a super cool place where they walk you through doing your own painting. Kenley will go there and pick out which painting she wants to do for her party! It's going to be a lot of fun!
  6. Kenley is in first grade this year and is doing great. At this point she is reading at almost a 2nd grade level and is doing really well in math and writing, too! It's no surprise to me that my 'book worm' is reading beyond the expected level for her age! She's enjoying school still and really likes her teacher this year. She's also been dubbed the 'computer expert' in her class....this means if anyone has questions about how to use the computer, they should ask her! She thinks that is pretty cool!
  7. Kason is enjoying his second year of preschool, too. He has a new buddy, Jackson, who he says is his best friend. He talks about Jackson non-stop and has been asking for Jackson to come over to our house forever! Little does he know, Jackson is coming over tomorrow evening to have that play date! He is learning a lot at preschool and I have seen him really transforming into a little boy. He is so smart and he amazes me everyday! As much as it pains me to say it....he is definitely growing up! He's not a baby anymore!
  8. MU homecoming is this Saturday. I wish we were able to go to the game, but it's too early for Justin to be able to go. The homecoming parade is starting at 7am this year. WTH is that all about? I haven't decided if I will take the kids or not. That is really early and it is going to be really cold. Ugh...
  9. Kenley is now dancing at CPAC (Columbia Performing Arts Center) instead of Columbia Dance Academy. She's been wanting to take Jazz for a while now, but it didn't work out. Once I got to researching CPAC I found out that it's cheaper for her to dance there and, in my opinion, it's a better dance school. She loves it and is doing really well!
  10. We could use some prayers for Justin's grandpa, Dave. He's been in the hospital and is not doing well at all. Any thoughts or prays you could spare would be nice!

10 on Tuesday!

  1. I've been sucking at keeping this updated lately. Football will be over soon so hopefully it won't be as hard to keep it up!

  2. Speaking of football, Justin has been having a great season. They are currently 6-3 with one more game in the regular season. It's possible for us to go on after this game, but I know there is a formula to it and I can't explain it. Good luck, RB!

  3. Kenley had a field trip at school yesterday. Her school does a special thing every 6 weeks or so that all the kids get to do if they have all of their work done and have stayed out of trouble. The first time the went to the movies. Yesterday they went to Bradford Farms for several hours. Kenley had a great time and she really looks forward to the 'special treat'.

  4. Halloween is just around the corner now. Kenley and Kason are very excited. I still need to find some vampire teeth for Kenley. Walmart did have any so I need to check the party store, I think. She's going to be a vampire queen. I'm pretty sure the only reason she chose that costume was because she liked the dress! Kason is going to be a fireman. He's been pretty obsessed with firetrucks for the last few months, so it was only fitting for him!

  5. Justin and I went to a Halloween party last weekend and it was fun. We met some new friends and got to know our neighbors a little better. I was a witch and Justin was Richard Simmons (the same costume he wore a couple years ago). We have another costume party to go to this weekend and it will be fun for sure!

  6. Kason has really settled into his preschool now. He has made some new friends and really enjoys his days there. He comes home hungry and tired.

  7. I have to tell you about a couple of funny things he has said recently. Justin was changing his diaper over the weekend and threw his nannie (blanket) on the floor across the room. Here's how the conversation went: K: "I need a rope." J: "What do you need a rope for?" K: "So I can lasso my nannie!" How funny is that?? The second thing was when we were outside at a birthday party on Sunday. Some birds flew over us and were making noise. Kason says: "You hear that? Those eagles are trying to tell me something!" So serious. This kid cracks me up!

  8. On Thursday night I am working a Holiday Extravaganza event for Scentsy. There are going to be lots of vendors in one place and the proceeds benefit the Central Missouri Food Bank. If you don't have anything to do, come on out. It at the Old Hawthorne Clubhouse from 5-8.

  9. Kenley's birthday is coming up in a few weeks. It's hard to believe my girl is turning 6 years old! We're having a "Purplicious" (it's a book) party at Flipz on November 19 from 6-7:30. Invites coming soon!

  10. Did you know there are only 60 days until Christmas? I need to get started on the shopping! YIKES!

10 on Tuesday!

1. I'm in payroll hell today. It amazes me that every 'upgrade' they do on our system makes everything 100 times worse.

2. Tomorrow we have a 'Student Affairs Breakfast'. It's basically something our unit does for Reslife, Campus Dining and bookstore (maybe more, I can't remember) employees. It will be nice to have a free breakfast!

3. This weekend is the MU South Farm Showcase. We went last year and had a great time. They have a petting zoo, hayrides, mule wagon rides, free pumpkins, hay mazes and a bunch of other stuff. This year they are having tethered hot air balloons rides! Don't tell the kids, but we are going to do it and they are going to flip out! They both love hot air balloons! I can't wait!

4. It's going to be a busy weekend! On top of the South Farm Showcase, we have Madison's 9th birthday party and Amelia's first birthday party as well. I will be running all around this weekend but that's ok!

5. I took Kason to the doctor last Saturday and they said he had a cold. I hate when I pay $15 for the doctor to tell me "it's a cold, or it's a virus". GRRRR. I guess it's better safe than sorry but I hate that!! I think he's slowly but surely starting to get over it.

6. Kenley started dance a couple weeks ago and is enjoying it very much. She LOVES to dance. Now I get to hear "when it my dance recital", "what is my costume going to be", "what song are you dancing to" over and over again. She doesn't understand that they don't even think about the recital until March. Ha!

7. Kason has been loving preschool. Much to my surprise, he only had a couple of days of drop off where he was sad and/or crying. He's done really, really well. He loves Bobby (so does Kenley) and has some friends that he enjoys playing with. It cracks me up because every day I ask him what he had for lunch and every single day the answer is the same, tacos! I'm pretty sure they don't eat tacos every day!

8. Mark your calendars ladies and gentleman.....Kenley is going to be in the Mizzou Homecoming Parade on October 15. She'll be riding in a convertible and will have a sign that says that she's Little Miss Boone County 2011! She is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited!

9. Last chance for cookie dough or Celebrating Home orders. Anyone? The cookie dough order is due tomorrow and the other is due last this week. Let me know as soon as possible if you are interested in ordering!

10. 2 weeks in a row......I'm on a roll!

10 on Tuesday!

  1. Wow, it's been a while. I've been really slacking on this lately and my mom and sisters have made sure I knew it! I'm making it a point to do better at this from now on!

  2. Things have been busy. Justin is into week 4 of football and that is taking a lot of his time. Rock Bridge is 3-0 right now, YIPEEEE! Keep it up, coach!

  3. Speaking of football, Kenley did a Bruin Girl Dance Clinic last weekend and will be dancing with the Bruin Girls at the football game this Friday night. She was SOOO excited and can hardly wait. It should be cute to watch those little girls dance to Justin Bieber!

  4. Kason has been loving preschool. We only had a couple of days of rough drop offs and now there are no tears. There are lots of little boys there right around his age and he has a great time playing with them. He is always so excited to see me when I get there, but when I ask him if he's ready to go, he says "NOOOOO, I not ready to go yet". Silly boy!

  5. Kenley has been doing well in kindergarten, although, it has been a huge adjustment for her. She's a terror to get out of bed in the mornings and often yells "I don't want to go to school. Why can't I sleep in? You always tell me to sleep in, just let me sleep in right now". Now I know what my mom went through with me. LOL! I knew that was coming, I just didn't expect it this early.

  6. If anyone is interested, Scentsy launched a new catalog this month. It's got a lot of nice new warmers, Scentsy buddies and they have new solid perfume now. I'm really excited about the new things in this catalog. If you are interested in ordering or hosting a basket party, please let me know. You won't be sorry!!

  7. Kenley started dance again last night. It couldn't have come fast enough.....I was getting tired of her asking when dance was going to start again. She enjoyed her class last night and met some new friends, including, Madison, who is the daughter of my friend, Shannon. Those girls are two peas in a pod and they will have fun in class together this year!

  8. Both of the kids are doing fundraisers right now for their schools. Kenley is selling frozen cookie dough and select magazine subscriptions. Kason is selling candles, holiday decor and gift bags/wrap. All of the stuff is nice. Let me know if you want to check it out!

  9. I can't remember if I have posted about this yet, but our cat, Max was diagnosed at diabetic a couple months ago. We've been dealing with it, but I don't think he's doing too well. I'm not sure if he'll be around for much longer :(

  10. That's all I got for today. Hopefully will be back tomorrow for some Wordless Wednesday!

10 on Tuesday!

  1. Oh man, I have been so busy lately! Work is out of control this time of year and things have been just as crazy at home. I'm exhausted!!

  2. I had the best weekend this past weekend! My friend, Kim, came into town to visit! She's from Illinois, but currently lives in Japan, so I hardly get to see her. It was great to see her and catch up! Kim, I hope you had as good of a time as i did!

  3. This weekend Kenley is going to be in the Little Miss Boone County contest. I left it completely up to her and she decided she wanted to do it. She excited because she'll get a crown if she wins and she'll also get to hand out awards at the horse show!

  4. All of my nieces are going to be in the contests at the fair this weekend, too, so it should be fun!

  5. Registration for Kenley's dance class is up for the Fall. She'll be taking ballet/tap again and REALLY wants to take a hip hop class this year. I'm not sure if we'll be able to work it out though. It's more $$$, that we really don't have to spend at this time, and it's another night a week. We'll see though.

  6. In just 3 short weeks I am going to be a 'football widow' again. I know Justin is ready, but I am not! Kason will have a great time at the games this year though. It should be a good time!

  7. Man, it is HOT outside! I feel sorry for my husband who is out mowing in this heat. On Friday the high was 101 and they say the heat index will be over 110. Yikes!

  8. Kenley is going to start Kindergarten in just 4 weeks! Crazy! We need to get school supplies and a some clothes soon. It's hard to believe that the summer is almost over!

  9. I'm placing a Scentsy order next week. If you need something please let me know!

  10. Are you happy now, Mom and Christy? I finally did a 10 on Tuesday without you asking me for it!

Tuesday, June 21, 2011

10 on Tuesday!

  1. On Friday we went to Big Surf for the day. Although it started off raining in Columbia that morning, it turned out to be a great day and we had so much fun! Kenley loved going down the one slide that we could do together! Her other favorites were the wave pool and the lazy river. I can't wait to go back next year!

  2. The last t-ball game was cancelled. Oh well. I know none of us were too disappointed with this. We had a busy Saturday as it was!

  3. Kenley's recital was GREAT! It was so much fun watching her and she did such a great job. There will be a whole post dedicated to this soon, complete with a video!

  4. It's been strange this week not having anything going on. We were going, going, going for a while, but since dance and t-ball are over, we don't have anything to do. It's been a nice change in pace!

  5. We enjoyed Father's Day on Sunday, which also happened to be mine and Justin's 7 year anniversary! We got him a hammock and a stand and he loved it! He's wanted one for a long time, so it was the perfect gift. The kids and I have been enjoying it as well!

  6. This weekend we are having a kid free weekend. I'm so excited and it's been a long time since that has happened. We're going to dinner and a movie on Friday night to celebrate our anniversary. On Saturday we are going to the lake for the day to hang out on the water and in the sun. I'm very much looking forward to it! Thanks, mom, for keeping the kids for us!

  7. I made my cat, Max, a doctor appointment for Thursday morning. I think he might be diabetic. He's almost 11 years old and he's also been a HUGE cat. Lately he's lost all kinds of weight, his little box stinks to high heaven only a day after it's been changed, he's drinking and eating all the time, and he's having trouble jumping on the counters now (never a problem before). It will be interesting to see what the doctor thinks. All I know is that he hasn't been himself for the last couple of months.

  8. Tomorrow is my little sister's birthday. I don't know why, but the thought of her being 28 makes me feel really old! Happy birthday, Missy! Thursday is my 'other sister's' birthday! Debbie is a long time, very close family friend who might as well be family. We all love her like she is! Happy early birthday, Deb! Love you both very much!!

  9. And speaking of birthday's, Happy late birthday, Allyson!! Allyson is my BFF and her birthday was last Thursday, June 16. She's been in New York for almost 3 weeks now training for her new job. I've missed her and can't wait for her to get back!

  10. I'm thinking about stopping selling Scentsy. I haven't been able to get any parties booked for 2 months. I've offered tons of incentives and nothing seems to be working. Since I pay a monthly fee to have my website, I feel like I should just stop it while I am ahead. I haven't decided for sure, but it might be coming in the near future. If anyone wants to have a party, please let me know.

10 on Tuesday!

  1. I am really dragging today because a cute little boy decided to wake up before 5am today. He wasn't cranky or anything, he was just up and ready to go!

  2. Kenley has t-ball pictures and a game tonight. I'll be packing the kids a picnic dinner since we'll leave the house a little after 5 and won't be back home until after 8.

  3. I'm scheduled to have my gallbladder removed on June 1. It's a laparoscopic procedure, so it shouldn't be too bad. I'm a little nervous, though, because I have never had surgery before.

  4. It rained all last weekend which was nice because my husband got to spend some time at home. It's bittersweet though because now he has to spend the evenings mowing to catch up. I'll be glad when gets out of school and can do the mowing during the week!

  5. Justin got new tires on his truck today. They cost almost $800!!! I know it's a lot of money, but he really needed them. The old tires were REALLY bald!

  6. Last Friday night Justin and I went to the RB prom. It was fun! He had to supervise and I went along because I thought it would be fun. We went to dinner and then headed to prom. Most of the girls looked great and there were also some 'interesting' ones, to say the least.

  7. All of the students are gone off campus now! YIPPEE!! It makes it way faster to get to work and much easier to get around campus!

  8. I went for a long walk last night with the dogs and I can hardly walk today. My legs and butt are really feeling it!

  9. Justin is working graduation this weekend and I am planning to have a girls movie night with Kenley. I just Netflix'd High School Musical because I know she's never seen it and she'll love it!

  10. My momma is leaving for a 10 day vacation on Saturday. She'll be spending 10 days HERE. Lucky girl! This place looks amazing! I hope you guys have a wonderful vacation, Momma!

10 on Tuesday!

  1. What a beautiful day. It's over 90 degrees and it's just lovely. I only wish I could be outside today instead of chained to my desk!

  2. I think we are supposed to have nice weather for a while. I sure hope that it stays nice and we don't have anymore 50 degree days until the fall. I'm loving the sunshine and it's been great for my attitude!

  3. Kenley has another t-ball game tonight. She really liking it so far and she's actually pretty good at hitting the ball. It's so cute to watch!

  4. I had the best Mother's Day this year. The kids and Justin got me two pairs of shoes that I wanted. I love them!! I got to spend several hours with my mom and watched the kids play in the water, then I got some quiet time at home while Kason napped and Kenley was still at my moms house. We went to Justin's parents for a yummy dinner and the day was just wonderful all around.

  5. I'm going to prom on Friday night. Seriously! Justin has to work a few events at the end of the school year and I decided that I would go with him this year. Of course I will not be wearing a prom dress, but it will be fun to get dressed up and go to a prom again!

  6. I got my hair cut and colored last night. It's blonder and about 5 inches shorter! Love it! I totally needed a change.

  7. So, I have a follow up appointment with my doctor tomorrow morning. The CT Scan that I had last week didn't show anything in my gallbladder, but it did show a spot on my liver. It will be interesting to hear what he wants to do from here. Who knows....to be continued, I guess!

  8. Since I was able to spend some time outside this weekend, I actually have a tan! I love it!

  9. Anyone want to host a Scentsy basket party? I'm offering $25 in FREE product to anyone who books a party in May. I'm also offering a $25 credit to anyone who refers someone to me and they book a party! Come on people!!!

  10. I'm having a hard time with 10 things this week, so I'll end with that!

Tuesday, April 26, 2011

10 on Tuesday!

  1. We had a great Easter weekend. It was busy but great. Kason really enjoyed finding Easter eggs, but not as much as Kenley!

  2. An Easter funny....Kenley came to my room in the middle of the night crying. When I asked her what was wrong, she told me that she saw bunny ears at her door and she got scared because the Easter bunny wanted to come into her room. She said she hid until he was gone because she didn't want him to see her so he would still leave her a basket, but then she ran to my room. Yes, she really thinks she saw the Easter bunny. SO CUTE!!

  3. Kason's 2nd birthday is on Friday. I can't believe it.

  4. With the birthday comes the dreaded doctor appointment and shots. That is next Friday, May 6. I'm not looking forward to that part.

  5. We've got a Thomas the Train party planned for Sunday. It should be a great time. I'm looking forward to celebrating and visiting with our friends and family!

  6. And speaking of his birthday party just reminds me of how much stuff I have to do to prepare for it. I need to get food, decorations, etc. Now I just have to find the time for all of it!

  7. So Kenley has t-ball practice again tonight. Her first game is next Tuesday. I can't wait. It's going to be so cute to watch her play ball. Considering she'll only had 2 practice's so far, it should be interesting!

  8. My mom and I had a 31 party the Sunday before last. It was a success. We had a great turnout and had a wonderful time visiting with friends. I love their stuff so I am very anxious to get my new stuff! LOVE IT!

  9. The "Royal Wedding" is on Friday. I'm going to DVR it. I've kind of gotten into the whole hoopla lately. I didn't think I would, but I got sucked in. Will you watch?

  10. I have a doctor appointment on Friday to have my gallbladder checked. I have been having some issues for a while and finally had enough. I'm going to have some tests and figure out what is wrong with me. Hopefully it's nothing serious!

Tuesday, April 12, 2011

10 on Tuesday!

  1. So much to talk about and so little time! Things have been totally nuts the past 2 weeks and this post will tell you why!

  2. Justin's back. I mentioned this on the last 10 on Tuesday I did. Justin hurt his back pretty badly on his spring break. I took him to the doctor on Wednesday (3-30) and they said it was a severe strain. He was down and out all week long and although he's back at it now, his back is not. He's still having a lot of pain and I am still trying to talk him into seeing the doctor again.

  3. My niece, Amelia, was in the hospital at the same time. She had a severe case of RSV and couldn't keep her O2 levels up. She was not doing well at all, but after 1 week in the hospital, she finally turned around. She doing great now, thank God! My sister called this morning to tell me that her first tooth broke through yesterday too!!

  4. Kason was also sick. He took 3 trips to the doctor office in just 5 days. The end result was Croup. He got an aweful steriod shot in his thigh to open his airway because he was gasping for breaths. He seems to be doing much better now, but he still has a pretty nasty cough. My poor guy!

  5. As if those 3 things didn't make everything crazy enough, we had a HUGE garage sale this past weekend. There were 7 families total (my mom, 2 sisters, friend Pam, coworker/friend Jeanette and my mother in law) who brought stuff to my house for this sale. Let me just say that we did WONDERFUL! Our grand total was just under $1800!! It totally made the mess and the time worth it! Too bad it's not all mine :)

  6. Kenley has her first T-Ball practice tonight! She's got an adorable pink ball glove!! I'm not sure who is more excited about it. She'll be playing on a team that a friend coaches, plus we know several of the kids on the team. It will be interesting if nothing more!

  7. This weekend my mom and I are hosting a Thirty One party. I love, love, love the Thrity One products so I am really excited to host this party! If any of my readers are interested in coming, let me know!

  8. Because of the party coming up this weekend, I am in a mad dash to get the rest of my house together! I really wanted to have stuff hung on the walls before I have people there, but I don't think I will have the time to get it done.

  9. Last week we went to "Tons of Trucks" at Cosmo park. It's basically just a parking lot full of dump trucks, fire trucks, tractors, boats, ambulances, police cars, etc. The kids both loved it! We had a great time and I will post some pictures later. I didn't get too many good ones!

  10. I'm planning Kason's 2nd birthday party now. It's crazy to think that my last baby is turning 2. I'm perfectly happy with my 2 wonderful children, but this is making me have baby fever all over again. Ugh.....

Tuesday, March 29, 2011

10 on Tuesday!

  1. Spring Break!! It doesn't really feel much like spring break though, considering we had snow last week and weekend and it's only about 40 degrees out. Come on, Mother Nature, give us some warm weather!!

  2. I took the day off yesterday to spend with the family and I think I am going to do the same on Friday. I wish I got a spring break!!

  3. Justin did something to his back yesterday. He's in really bad shape. He can hardly walk or stand. He says the only position that doesn't make it hurt is to lay down. I've never seen him in this much pain so I hope it gets better or he lets me take him to the doctor tomorrow!

  4. I had a VERY nice weekend with my mom and sisters. We took a trip to KC to shop and met up with some family while we were there. It was a great getaway and we all had a great time!

  5. Remember how I had been talking about Kason being sick for months? Well, maybe not sick, but he had diarrhea for almost 2 full months. FINALLY it seems to have gone away. I took away all diary, except yogurt and that seemed to help. Now the question is: Is he allergic to dairy or was this just a huge coincidence? I don't know but we'll see once I start adding dairy back to his diet!

  6. I've started playing "words with friends" on my iPhone. It's fun and addicting! I think I have about 8 games going on right now. If you play and want to get a game going, find me....Lucky2bmrsc!

  7. It just hit me. Kason is turning 2 in exactly 1 month. It's just not possible!!

  8. I entered Kenley into a photo contest on Facebook last week. The winner will receive a free photo session from the photographer that is hosting the contest. 10 on Tuesday!

  1. Tomorrow is my BIRTHDAY!! Bittersweet since I am registering my baby for kindergarten!
  2. I'm looking forward to a night out with friends on Saturday to celebrate! We're going to go out to dinner and then hang out downtown. I'm excited!!
  3. And speaking of birthday's: Happy birthday to my friend, Kate (today), and Grandma Joanna (Friday).
  4. It stayed light out until 7:45 tonight. That is awesome!! So happy about the extra daylight now!
  5. Kenley got to be in a parade last Saturday and she has not stopped talking about it. She had SO much fun! My mom said she walked for 2.5 miles and never once complained. She was, however, complaining on Sunday that her stomach hurt when she coughed. I had to explain that it was her stomach muscles that were sore from all of that walking she did!
  6. Next weekend I am taking a trip to Kansas City with my mom and my sisters. We are going to a place called "Old Time Pottery". It's like a huge Hobby Lobby and they are having a huge sale. I'm excited for the time with my mom and sisters more than anything. No kids allowed!
  7. The kids rooms are completely put together now! Yay!! Now if I could just get the rest of the house completely put together that would be wonderful!
  8. Did I tell you guys that I got a new washer and dryer? I can't remember if I did, but let me tell you that I AM IN LOVE! OMG, I had no idea what I was missing out on. These things wash and dry a load of laundry faster than my old washer would wash a load.
  9. Think good thoughts for Justin tomorrow. He's got something big going on and could use your thoughts. More on this soon, I hope!
  10. Spring is almost here and the temperatures are starting to show it. It is supposed to be in the 60 and 70's for at least the next 10 days. I hope it stays like that everyday now!

10 on Tuesday!

  1. You know you are a grown up when you are SO EXCITED about just having bought a new washer and dryer! That's right, I have a new set coming on Thursday and I could not be more excited about it!
  2. I took the kids to Bonkers on Sunday afternoon with my mom, sister and my nieces. Can I just tell you how much fun we had? It was a blast! I was sweating so much from having to follow Kason all the way through the big area because he didn't want much to do with the 'baby area'.
  3. 8 days until my birthday!
  4. Happy early birthday to my dad who's birthday is on Friday. I'm pretty sure he doesn't read this though!
  5. Another happy early birthday to my friend, Kim, who turns 30 tomorrow! We were able to go out with Kim and lots of other friends on Saturday night to celebrate. I hope your 30's are fantastic!
  6. The house is finally starting to come together now. More and more gets done everyday to make me feel like I'm 'getting there'. I hope to take some pictures this weekend and get them posted because lots of people have been asking for them!
  7. I'm super jealous that my BFF, Allyson, is in Cancun right now. I hope you are having fun and I hope you have drank some fruity frozen drinks for me!
  8. Kason turns 2 in seven weeks. How is that possible?
  9. Real World Las Vegas starts tomorrow night and I am excited for it! I'm a reality TV junkie and I will happily admit it!
  10. I'm off here to go soak in a hot bath with a glass of wine. Have I said how much I love my new bathtub?

10 on Tuesday!

  1. I dropped my truck off last night to have it repaired. I got a rental to drive until they get it finished, which will be at least 3-4 days. While I was hoping to get something cool to drive, I got an HHR instead. It's not my favorite car by any means, but it's ok and it gets my where I need to be.
  2. I can't remember if I mentioned this or not, but Kason has been having all kinds of trouble lately. He's had massive diarrhea for more than 2 weeks now and I can't seem to make it stop. I even had a stool culture done and everything came back normal. I have no clue what is causing it but I wish it would just go away already!!
  3. My birthday is 2 weeks away. That also means that registering my BABY girl for kindergarten is only 2 weeks away. I just printed all of the forms. I can't believe it's already time.
  4. The sun is shining today. I wish I could get outside instead of being stuck at my desk!
  5. We got our tax refund back yesterday. Too bad it's already gone :( We needed that fence though and it's made our lives much easier since it's been finished!
  6. Our new house is feeling more and more like home everyday. I still can't believe that we now own our dream house!
  7. Kenley has "Bieber Fever" so bad. She's been talking about Justin Bieber non stop for the past few weeks. She's even taught Kason to sing "baby, baby, ohhhh". It's so funny!!
  8. Today is the first day to order from the new Spring/Summer Scentsy catalog. There are some great new items in it!! Check it out on my website or let me know if you want a catalog! I really need to get some parties booked soon, so who wants to host?
  9. We now have less than 2 weeks until we 'spring forward' and just over 2 weeks until it is officially spring! Yipeee!!
  10. Happy 5 year's sober anniversary to my sister, Christy! I'm more proud of you than I could ever say!
  11. BONUS: Kason went pee on his little potty last night!!! OMG, I so hope this is the start of getting him out of diapers!!

10 on Tuesday!

  1. I didn't have Internet at home last week, so there was no 10 on Tuesday. We're all moved in now and our new house is feeling more like home everyday!
  2. Happy late birthday to my mom, Linda! Her birthday was last Wednesday and I meant to post a birthday message for her, but as I said before, I didn't have Internet and had no time to do it at work. So, Happy birthday to the best mom in the whole wide world!
  3. Moving was a huge job. I never realized how much stuff we have!! It took us all day on Friday and then a few hours on both Saturday and Sunday. We moved everything into the garage and then have been moving it into the house as we go. The garage is almost empty now!!
  4. We also bought new furniture, which I LOVE, and it has made the house feel more like home. We went from Friday-Wednesday without furniture or TV. That was interesting!!
  5. The kids settled in much easier than I expected. They spent the weekend with my mom so that we could get things together easier. The first night they spent in the house was just like any other night. They slept great and we haven't had any issues at all.
  6. The dogs have been a different story though. Since we didn't have a fence when we moved in, the adjustment was hard for the boys. They have never been on a rope before and they didn't really know what to think about it. They wouldn't pee or poop on that rope and we couldn't just let them out in the yard since we were afraid they would run off. We had to take them over to Justin's parent's house once a day to let them run around/poop in their backyard. Good news is that the fence was finished yesterday. So much easier now!
  7. I am still hunting for an area rug. I need at least a 6X9 and one that doesn't cost a fortune. If anyone runs across something, let me know!
  8. We've been completely exhausted for the last 12 days. With the move and all of the stuff that comes with it, we haven't had a chance to just sit down and chill out. We need that. Soon.
  9. Spring is just 26 days away, but who's counting anyways??
  10. That also means that I have just 22 days until I turn 30! YIKES!!

10 on Tuesday!

  1. Where to start? Where to start? There has been a lot going on the last 2 weeks!
  2. Blizzard, Snowpacalypse, whatever you want to call it! Whew, more than 17 inches of snow in one day. That was crazy! Justin shoveled the driveway more times than I can count! I really just wish that it would all melt away! When is it going to be Spring???
  3. One good thing about the Blizzard of 2011 is that I got 3 'snow days' off from work. It was nice to get to stay home with Justin and the kids while he had a snow day. I only worked a half day on Monday and then not again until yesterday. It sure was hard to come back to work!
  4. Friday was not a snow day, but Kenley was sick. Out of nowhere she started to complain that her stomach hurt in the middle of the night. I was laying in her bed and she started to throw up.....all over her bed. Ugh! That continued until mid-morning, throwing up, dry heaving...she couldn't even keep watch down. Around lunchtime she said she was hungry and had some toast and a banana. She kept that down and then started to feel much better. No clue what she had, but I am thankful that no one else got it and that it was pretty short lived!
  5. So I got an estimate on getting my truck repaired. Remember that Justin got rear-ended a couple weeks ago? If you look at it, you probably wouldn't noticed that anything is wrong with it, however, it has over $1100 in damages! We'll be getting a new bumper and some touch up paint starting on March 1. It will take 3-4 days, they say, so thank God we are getting a rental for that time. I'm glad the guy had good insurance!
  6. This Friday is closing day and moving day!! Don't even ask me how stressed out I have been lately. Things have been crazy and I can't even tell you how happy I am that things will finally start to settle down.
  7. Thank you to my mom and my sister for helping me out last night. My sister, Missy, came over to help me pack. My mom took all four of the kids to McDonald's for dinner and to play so that we could get lots of packing done. We did! Thanks again!
  8. Kason has started to say "love you", except it doesn't really sound much like 'love you'. It sounds like 'nah new'. So cute and it melts my heart every time I hear him say it.
  9. Can I just say that I hate furniture shopping too! We have been looking for new furniture and it is so stressful! We've been to every furniture store in Columbia at least a few times and I think they probably know us by name now. That or they call Justin 'the tape measure guy' because we have been measuring furniture to make sure it will fit in our new living room!
  10. I'll end with this....if I NEVER buy another house again, it will be too soon!

10 on Tuesday!

  1. So Justin was rear-ended on Friday evening. Luckily, he was ok and so was the other driver. He was in my truck and didn't have the kids with him, thank God. We'll need a new bumper and possibly a repair to the alignment and the tow package. The good news is that the other insurance will be giving me a rental car while ours is repaired.
  2. Things with the new house are moving along. We should be getting the new roof and the appriasal this week. I am crossing my fingers hoping that all goes well with both of those things.
  3. Kason is cracking me up lately. He's saying and doing all kinds of funny things. His newest phrases are "oh, ok" and "hey, Mommy/Daddy/Sissy". So cute. I just want to eat him up!
  4. Kenley has had a real attitude problem lately. I'm not sure what to do about it, so does anyone have any suggestions. I swear she doesn't get it from me :)
  5. My thyroid levels came back fine, which is crazy to me, because I am losing so much hair. I also asked them to check my iron levels and they said those were fine too. Why else would I be losing hair by the handful?
  6. 5 years ago on Thursday is when Justin and I purchased our first house. We said that it was going to be our 5 year home, and what do you know? We will be signing the papers on our new home EXACTLY 5 years to the day of when we moved in to our first house!
  7. I need a new pillow badly. I have been tossing and turning every night for a while and I just figured out that it's because of my pillow. My next and my right shoulder have been killing me. I hope this does the trick!
  8. I'm still loving Jazzercise, in case you were wondering!
  9. I'm so ready for spring. I can't wait for fresh air, the smell of fresh cut grass, dresses, slip flops, flowers......Oh spring, where are you??
  10. My mom and pops got a new car today. It's a Veracruse (I think that's how it's spelled). I can't wait to see it!

10 on Tuesday!

  1. I was SICK last week so that is why I skipped out on blogging. I came down with the flu or a 24 hour stomach bug that had me puking. No fun at all. Something that was even less fun....Justin cleaning up my puke out of the bathtub after I threw up (A LOT) in the shower. Thanks, Honey....I owe you one for sure!
  2. The past week has been crazy! So much going on. Both of the kids have been sick, Justin and I have both been sick. Let's just say we have had better weeks in our household!
  3. I started going to Jazzercise last week with my BFF, Allyson. Can I tell you how much I love it? It's so fun and you really do get a great workout from it. I'm not the gym type, I never have been, but this is NOT the gym. It's dancing and I love it!
  4. I keep hearing that we are getting a BUNCH of snow in the next couple of days. I'm hearing up to 10 inches. I'm soooooo over winter already. I'm ready for tank tops and flip flops.
  5. Because of number 4, I bet we'll have another snow day this week. I hate snow days.....I have to work while my lucky husband gets to stay at home and play with the kids!
  6. I have an appointment in the morning to have my thyroid levels checked again. I'm also have my iron levels checked as well. I've been losing hair by the handful and I can't figure out why. It must be related to one of those things. I think I may need to up my thyroid medication again. I just hope I can figure it out soon or I might be bald!
  7. Kason got another hair cut over the weekend. This is number 5 or 6, I think. He's got lots of hair and it gets wild! Although I love the way it looks when it's wet, it never looks that good. After a nap and running around all day, he looks like a wild man with wild hair. This summer he will be getting a buzz cut! I bet he'll look so cute!
  8. Work has been crazy busy, but it's finally starting to calm down some now. Thank goodness! I hate when I am so busy that I can't even take a break to pee!
  9. Anyone see the Bachelor or Jersey Shore last night? Michelle is a crazy b**ch and Snookie needs to go to rehab. Enough said.
  10. Quitting time. I'm heading to Jazzercise!

10 on Tuesday!

  1. I got an iPhone on Saturday and can I just say I AM IN LOVE!! Seriously, what did we do before we had these things? They are awesome!
  2. We had a great time on Saturday night. We got to eat good food, hang out with great friends and laugh....a lot! Thanks everyone for the great evening!
  3. This morning we woke up to a water main break in our neighborhood. That means we had no water this morning and even though I think it's fixed now, we are under a boil order for 48 hours. That means we have to boil every bit of water that we'll be using for drinking or cooking. Lovely!
  4. On Sunday, Mike and Sherri's cat, Sassy, died. They have had her for almost 14 years and the vet said that she was about 1 year old when Josh brought her home with him on his way home from school! She was a good cat, but she hadn't been doing well for a month or so. We all knew the end was near. Kenley was very upset, much more so than I expected her to be. I think she's good now though.
  5. I enjoyed my 5 days off of work this past weekend. I took off on Thursday and then unexpectedly had to take off on Monday so Sherri could take care of Sassy. It was Heaven to be off work for that long! I love my job and all, but the time off was great!
  6. Scentsy is offering DOUBLE hostess rewards for the month of January. Anyone interested in hosting a party? It's easy and you earn free and discount items!
  7. So far 2011 is looking up for us. I really think it's going to be a great year. I hope it's going to be a great year. We have some things on the horizon that you'll be hearing more about soon! (No, I am not pregnant!!)
  8. I can't believe it's 2011 already. That means that this is the year that I will turn 30. Oh well, it doesn't bother me to be 30!
  9. I can't remember if I have posted about this yet, but I am sure Kason is getting his 2 year molars. He has been trying to bite everything and everyone lately. It's annoying, and it hurts, but I can understand that it must be painful for him too. Hopefully they make it in soon!
  10. Kenley's preschool was closed for 10 days and just reopened yesterday. Kenley could hardly wait to go back to school. Everyday we would count down the days until she could go back. I'm SO glad that she loves it so much!
