10 on Tuesday!

  1. Did everyone have a great Christmas? I know I did and I hope you did too!
  2. Today I am having a little 'pitty party' for myself. I'm really hating being a working mom. Of course Justin is off work for the week and I have to leave all of them at home everyday. This morning as soon as I put up the garage door, I heard footsteps upstairs. I knew it was Kenley because she's been having a hard time understanding why I have to go to work and Daddy gets to stay home. I went inside to say goodbye to her and I heard her crying. Once I called her to come downstairs she was still upset and didn't understand why I couldn't stay home. I left with tears in my eyes. It's so hard being a working mom :(
  3. I might take the day off on Thursday, depending how caught up at work I can get today and tomorrow. The rest of the department is really slow but I am crazy busy!
  4. I can't believe that 2011 is just 4 days away. Here's hoping to great things for all of us in 2011!
  5. Are you making a New Year's Resolution? I am but I haven't decided what it/they are going to be. I can think of tons of them!
  6. Speaking of New Years....I am looking forward to celebrating with some great friends. We are having a game night at Jason and Allyson's house this year. We'll all bring appetizers and play card/board games. Sounds fun, right? That's how I know we're getting old. LOL!
  7. I took my Christmas tree down last night. I NEEDED the room in the living room for all the new toys. We need to build on to our house just to make room for the new stuff! My kids aren't spoiled at all...
  8. I'm getting an iPhone, I'm getting an iPhone. I can't wait. I've been wanting one for the longest time and I decided that I would buy one with my Christmas money! So Excited!!
  9. Kason turns 20 months old tomorrow. It is crazy how quickly the last 20 months have gone by.
  10. My boy, my sweet boy. He is such a lover. He loves to give me kisses and I LOVE to be on the receiving end of them. He'll just kiss and kiss and kiss, over and over and over again. On the off chance that he won't give me a kiss all I have to do is pretend to cry or by sad and he comes right over. Such a sweet little guy!

Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas!! He wasn't supposed to buy me anything, but Justin surprised me with this beautiful bracelet on Christmas morning!! It's a 'Charmed Memories' bracelet, which is exactly the same thing as the 'Pandora' bracelet! I LOVE IT!! It's got beautiful charmed with both of our children's birthstones and the middle charm says "I Love You". I've wanted one of these for a long time but I don't remember ever mentioning my love of them to Justin. He did a great job picking it out and I am very much looking forward to adding to it for years!! Did I mention that I LOVE IT???

That's my niece, Amelia, on her first Christmas! Isn't she cute?? I couldn't resist posting this picture because she's such a cutie and I love the hat!!

We had a wonderful Christmas at our house! Christmas Eve was spent at home because it was snowing all day! We went outside to build a snowman with Kenley and we also had a snowball fight! It was tons of fun! Santa was good to the kids. He left Kenley an adorable baby crib with 3 princess baby dolls, plus tons of great stuff in her stocking! Santa left Kason a tool bench & a Toy Story potty seat, plus his stocking goodies. The kids were so excited as they woke up to see what Santa had left them. We spent the next 30-45 minutes opening the other presents from under the tree. Those included baby doll accessories, Barbie house, Littlest Pet Shop daycare and several other things for Kenley, plus a cleaning kit, some cars/trucks, magnadoodle, computer and more for Kason. They loved everything!

Later on Christmas Day we went to Justin's parents for dinner and more presents. We had a great time and we all got some great gifts! Kason's favorite is a 'Lightening McQueen' tricycle that makes all kinds of noises. It's cute! Kenley's favorite was a baby doll nursery center. Thanks Mike and Sherri for all of the great gifts!!

The next morning we went to my mom's house for our Christmas breakfast tradition! My mom makes a ham the night before and then we have ham & cheese omelets with biscuits & gravy and anything else we feel like. My mom makes the BEST omelets!! We enjoyed playing with the kids new toys, visiting with each other and looking through old pictures from my grandpa's house. The kids were spoiled again and it's to the point now that we'll need to build onto our house just to have somewhere to put all of the toys they have!! The picture above is of my nieces, Kylie & Olivia, and Kason playing in Kason's new football shaped tent. It was a hit, but not nearly as much as the vacuum and shopping cart were. If only that vacuum actually worked!! Kenley's favorites included a make-up kit, tattoos & a new 2 wheel scooter!
Overall we all had a wonderful Christmas! I hope your family did as well!!

10 on Tuesday!

  1. My grandpa died last week and I just didn't feel up to doing my 10 on Tuesday the day of his funeral. Here goes for this week.....
  2. My Vi-Peel went well. It was uncomfortable for a couple of days and it itched like crazy. It only hurt one day and that was just like it felt raw....it was raw! i will be posting an update to this and some pictures soon.
  3. I cannot believe that Christmas is only 4 days away. I have a couple things left to pick up, but other than that, I am ready and very much looking forward to it!
  4. The kids are getting so much stuff. I went overboard shopping for them this year. I hardly ever buy stuff for them though, so it is fun for me. I can't wait to see their faces on Christmas morning!
  5. I'm pretty sure we will have to build on to our house to make room for all of the new stuff they are getting! Between us and both sets of grandparents, they are going to be spoiled rotten. As if they aren't already!
  6. As much as I LOVE Christmas, I am ready to have my house back. The Christmas tree is gorgeous, but it takes up so much room in the living room. I'm ready for it to be gone soon!
  7. I feel like I am getting sick. I have been sniffling and sneezing for a couple days now. It's to the point that people at work are asking me if I am sick. Ugh, I hate to have to go to the doctor but I sure don't want to be sick for Christmas.
  8. Speaking of doctor's appointments. I took Kenley to the doctor on Friday afternoon. I noticed a little blood in her urine the night before. Turns out she has a urinary tract infection. We got some antibiotics and she's on the mend now. Thank God! Let me just tell you how freaked out Justin and I were by the blood. Scary stuff!
  9. I'm pretty sure Kason is getting his 2 year molars right now. He's been a cranky mess and has been fussing in his sleep for a couple weeks. He's also had a runny nose, BAD diarrhea (TMI) and hasn't been eating well. All of those are classic signs of teething. Have I told you lately how much I hate teething??
  10. And, on the subject of teeth....I took Kenley to the dentist last week as well! She fell down about 6 weeks ago and hit her mouth on the tile in the kitchen. She complained of her tooth hurting for a couple days, but it wasn't loose and it stopped. About a week or two after the fall, I noticed her front tooth (the one that was hurting) was turning dark. I called the dentist and they wanted to see her. They basically just x-rayed it to make sure there wasn't an abscess or anything wrong. It may or may not change back to normal color but there is nothing they can do about it. He thought that she would probably be losing that tooth within 6-9 months anyway. I can't imagine my pretty little girl toothless!

Happy 30th Birthday, Justin!!

Sunday, December 19th, was Justin's 30th birthday. It's hard to believe that he's 30! It's not that 30 is old, it's the perception that we used to have that 30 was old! We have talked recently about how when we were 18 years old, 30 seemed ancient. Now that we are 30 (I will be in a couple months), it seems so young! Funny how everything changes over time!

Since Justin asked me not to throw him a birthday party, we did a scaled down night out with close friends. We went to D. Rowe's for dinner and drinks, which if you have never been, you don't know what you are missing! We enjoyed cake and beer there and then went to Deja Vu for a comedy show. The show was great, we laughed a lot and had a great time! We drank a lot....well, I drank a lot. Yikes, it was a lot! We stayed at Deja Vu for a couple of hours after comedy where we danced and boogied :) The night ended with friend back at our house. Ok, ok....the night really ended with me throwing up (not cool)! Thanks everyone for coming out. We had a great time and enjoyed spending the time with you guys! Happy 30th birthday, Justin!

10 on Tuesday!

  1. I'm back at it with a month off of 10 on Tuesday. Did you miss it?!?!?
  2. Guess what Santa is bringing Kason for Christmas?? A Potty seat!! He's always been interested in the potty and everyone using it (especially Justin) but lately he has been grabbing himself and saying "otty, otty, otty" (potty), so I think it might be time to get a little seat. I'm not expecting him to be potty trained anytime soon, but I think it is time to introduce it!
  3. Only 18 days until Christmas! I've got to do some serious shopping to get everything I need! Holy cow!
  4. Justin is turning 30 in 12 days! I still need to finish up my shopping for his birthday as well!
  5. Kenley got a haircut last week and it looks so cute! We cut several inches off of it so it's right below her shoulders now. Super cute!
  6. I got my hair colored on Sunday. I'm not a strawberry blond with a darker color on the underneath part. I thought Justin would hate it, but much to my surprise, he likes it!
  7. I'm going to my niece, Kylie's, Christmas program tonight. I can't wait to see her sing Christmas songs and show off her classroom! Kenley is excited too!
  8. We got our carpets cleaned last week and I can't believe how great they look. They didn't look dirty before, just matted down in the high traffic areas. After the cleaning they look brand new again! I highly recommend "Kingdom Cleaning" if anyone is looking!
  9. If anyone is interested in having a Scentsy Basket Party (like a book party) let me know! I have a bag available to go out right now! You can earn free and discount items for doing nothing!! Christmas ordering deadline is December 17.
  10. Some of you readers know this, but I have had MELASMA since the summer after Kenley was born. It's really bothered me over the years, especially in the summer when it gets really dark from sun exposure. I use concealer like crazy to cover it up. Not anymore (well, not after next week)!! I'm getting a chemical peel done on Thursday! It's called a VI-PEEL and it takes off 6 layers of skin. It should take care of the melasma, as well as some acne scars and help with the breakouts that I currently get. I am so excited that I am finally able to do something about this as it's made me very self conscience about my skin. I'll make sure to post updates and/or pictures during the process! Wish me luck!!

I'm not needed anymore.....

Tonight Kenley changed Kason diaper. This was not something that I asked her to do, although, it was a nice surprise! She's really been interested in playing mommy lately and has been playing with baby dolls non-stop. I guess she decided there was no need for baby dolls when she has her own real life 'baby' to take care of. I walked in his room and she had him on the floor fastening the second tab! Now, if only I could get her to change a poopy diaper......
