10 on Tuesday

  1. I almost forgot it was Tuesday. Definitely feels like a Monday.
  2. I was up half the night with my baby! Not really sure why, but my guess is teething pain or gas pains. After a dose of Tylenol and gas drops, then a bottle, we finally got to bed around 1am. He better be glad he's so cute!! I've been dragging all day long!
  3. Kenley is loving her new haircut. She likes that it doesn't get as tangled and it doesn't hurt as much when I brush it. I like that too!! I did ask Grandma Sherri to put a few layers in it though, and I know she did that this morning. YAY!!
  4. Guess who's birthday is only 3 weeks away??? That would be mine!! Kenley is excited for my birthday!
  5. Speaking of birthdays....we are starting to plan Mr Kason's birthday party now. We were looking at a catalog last night trying to figure out what theme to make it. I think we might go with Curious George. It's only fitting since Kason is 'our' Curious George.
  6. That boy, Kason, is into EVERYTHING these days. You cannot turn your head for a minute! He's the total opposite of his sister. She was a talker, he is a mover! He's been climbing into the book basket and standing on top of the books to get the remotes off the end table. So not ready for this!!
  7. I think he'll be walking very soon. He's been cruising for a LONG time, but has recently been letting go and taking a step or two to the next toy or piece of furniture. He's been walking around with his push toy for a month now and recently started standing on his own for about 20-30 seconds before he sits down. I give him a month or less, but I'm actually surprised that it's taken him this long to figure it out!
  8. Tim McGraw concert is Thursday night! I can't wait....so excited!! This will be my 3rd time seeing him, but I love him!!
  9. In case you were wondering....Kenley and Justin's picture did NOT win the Kiss-Cam contest. They ended up in fourth place. Thanks for voting though!
  10. Only 10.5 weeks until my first 5K race. I'm working really hard to prepare myself for it. I've been running/walking 2 miles at a time and last night I ran for a whole mile without walking. I know that's nothing for some of you, but it's a huge accomplishment for me!

10 on Tuesday: Grandma Linda Edition!

Happy birthday, Mom!!! Since today is my mom's birthday, I thought it would be fun to dedicate this 10 on Tuesday to her! I came up with 10 questions about my mom and asked Kenley, who is 4 years old, to answer them. Here's the questions, along with the answers straight out of her mouth!

  1. How old is Grandma? "I don't know....60" (Sorry mom..LOL)
  2. What do you love most about your Grandma? "I love that she gets me presents for my birthday and comes to my birthday party"
  3. What is Grandma's favorite color? "Pink" (I guess everyone has the same favorite color as Kenley)
  4. What does Grandma do better than anyone else? "She plays with me and helps me do flips"
  5. What does Grandma do when she isn't with you? "Well, she rides a motorcycle sometimes. And....she sometimes goes to work when I'm not with her".
  6. What does Grandma let you do that Mommy and Daddy don't? "I get to play with make-up"
  7. What is Grandma's favorite animal? "Teddy Bears"
  8. What is your favorite thing to do at Grandma's house? "Play outside and ride bicycles and jump on the trampoline. Grandma doesn't have a trampoline now"
  9. What does Grandma love the most about you? "She loves my smile and she loves my haircut"
  10. How much do you love your Grandma? "All the way to the moon and stars and back"

Kenley's new haircut!!!

We finally did it! Kenley's hair is now short! She's been wanting a shorter haircut for a while now and we finally decided to do it! She got about 7 inches cut off and it's now just below her shoulders. Can you believe it was almost to her waist in the first place?? Anyway, she loves it and so do I. There was no fighting about brushing her hair today!!!

10 on Tuesday

  1. I hate the snow. I'd be ok with only having snow for a couple weeks around Christmas and then not again until the next year. I'm SO over winter already!
  2. Speaking of the snow....I wish I got snow days like Justin! He hasn't has school for the past 2 days and I've had to drag my butt out of bed and come to work. I should have been a teacher!
  3. I really can't complain though since I got a day off on Friday! Justin's mom had to go to the doctor out of town, so I took the day off to spend with Kason. We had a wonderful day at home, just the 2 of us (Kenley was at school). I wish every weekend was a 3 day weekend!
  4. We enjoyed a night out on Saturday. We went to El Maguey for dinner with 4 other couples, then to a little bar that a friend owns, and then back to Jason and Allyson's house to hang out. It was tons of fun and a much needed date night for Justin and I.
  5. Super bowl was fun too. I didn't really watch any of the game because I was chasing around a cute baby boy, but I did get to socialize and catch some of the commercials. I loved the Doritos commercial where the dog took off his shock collar and put it on the guy eating the Doritos. Funny stuff!!
  6. Get ready for some BIG news....Kenley tried a grilled cheese sandwich and loved it! This is the same girl who hasn't tried anything new for 2 years. Somehow they talked her into trying it at school and she loved it. She's even has a couple of them since! I hope this means that she'll start to try more new foods, but I'm not holding my breath!
  7. Everyone in my house is finally feeling better, and sleeping! Thank God!! It took a while for Kason to get back on schedule and, actually, he's not really on the same schedule right now. Since he was waking to eat at night after he was sick, I started giving him another bottle during the day. This kid is eating five 8oz bottles and day, plus eating 3 meal of solids/baby food. He's sleeping through the night again and that's all I care about!
  8. Justin cooked a roast with potatoes and carrots yesterday since he was home all day. It was delicious and I wasn't the only who thought so. Kason ate 2 whole carrots and about a forth of a potato for his dinner, then topped it off with baby food bananas. He was loving the carrots and kept saying "mmmmm"!
  9. Justin is leaving town on Thursday to go to a football coaching clinic in Kansas City (I think). I'm going to be home alone with the kids from Thursday evening until Saturday when he comes back. I'm not worried about anything other than the morning routine on Friday. I haven't had to do it with 2 kids by myself yet. I hope I make it to work on time that day!
  10. Busy weekend coming up. We have dance on Saturday morning, then a 1st birthday party for our friend's daughter, Lillian. Sunday is of course Valentine's Day and we have another 1st birthday party for our friend's son, Finn. We don't have any big plans for V-day though. We'll probably just stay in with the kids!

10 on Tuesday

  1. Wait...it's February already?!?!?!?!?
  2. I'm so over this winter weather. I'm ready to warm sunshine and flip flops. Kenley keeps begging me to wear flip flops too. She's definitely my child!
  3. My running program is going really well. I have enjoyed it WAY more than I expected to. It's nice to be able to get outside for a bit all by myself! I've been running/walking at least 2 miles, 3 days a week.
  4. Weight Watchers is going pretty well too. I'm down 9.5 pounds now! Although it's not as much as I was hoping for, I'll take it. If I could only force myself to do better on the weekends, I'd be losing faster. I am my own worst enemy!
  5. Kenley got to pick out Valentine cards for the V-day party at Preschool. I'll give you one guess what she picked! Definitely princesses!
  6. Everyone in my house is feeling better now....finally! It took a while, but Kason finally has his appetite back and is sleeping well again! Thank God for that!
  7. Congratulations to Chris and Richelle on the birth of baby Eli! He was born on January 21 and he's a doll! We enjoyed visiting with our friends and Eli on Sunday.
  8. I won dinner and a movie off the radio station last week! How cool is that? I never win anything. Dinner is to Culver's (which is good, but not exactly healthy) and the movie is for Forum theaters. I don't care...I'll take a free dinner and a movie anytime!
  9. I'm already starting to think about Kason's first birthday party. I can't believe I am doing that already!
  10. My shows are on tonight. Biggest Loser and American Idol! Love them!!

Help our Children's Hopital win $50K

Y107 is in a battle to win the Most Caring Radio Station. The winner of the contest will win $50K donated to the local children's hospital. We are currently in 2nd place and will need EVERY vote to take first place! You owe it to anyone with kids to do this....you just never know when someone you love could be a patient at that hospital. This will only take a minute of your time. You can vote 10 times a day and the contest ends on Friday. Go HERE to vote!

Mommy and Kenley's day!

I thought it would be fun to do a girls day with my little lady! On Saturday I took Kenley to her dance class, then we went to have lunch with my mom, sister, and some of my sister's friends. After lunch we went to check out the Missouri Children's Museum. It was tons of fun. They have so much cool stuff to do. We played dress up, went shopping at the market, played with babies, Did crafts, painted Kenley's face, and also played dress up. I totally recommend it if you are looking for something to do on a rainy/cold day!
