10 on Tuesday!

  1. Kenley is having her first sleepover with a friend tonight. Avery is her first BFF and she's moving to Michigan soon. The girls had been talking about having a sleepover for so long that we finally gave in. She was so excited that she could hardly stand it. Think I'll get a call in the middle of the night? I think not!
  2. Tomorrow is my Friday!! I am off work on Thursday and Friday and I can't wait!
  3. Happy early birthday, Natalie! Tomorrow you turn 30....I'm right behind you, girl! Hope you have a fantastic birthday!
  4. And speaking of birthday's....happy early birthday to Madison! Maddie will be turning 8 on Friday and we are looking forward to celebrating your birthday on Saturday! Love you, Maddie girl!
  5. Sunday is my sister's baby shower. SOOOO excited! This baby is long awaited and is such a blessing to our family! Amelia is due on October 12 and will be adopted into our family at birth. I am so happy that my sister will finally get to know the joy of being a mom. It's the only thing that she's ever wanted and her dream is finally coming true.
  6. I'm still looking for a good mortgage broker. Anyone know one? We want to refinance the house to get a lower rate. We are pre-approved for the best rate (4.125%) right now, but I really wanted a loan with much lower closing costs.
  7. Tomorrow morning we have a staff appreciation breakfast. It's basically a thank you for working our butts off to have a smooth opening (MU residence halls) and a way for them to *try* to get us to forget that we haven't gotten raises in 2 years and probably won't be getting one for the next 2 years either. Um, yeah, I haven't forgotten but thanks for the free breakfast. I'll take it!
  8. So excited for new TV line ups! I watched The Biggest Loser early tonight and can I just say that I love that show! It's so inspiring and real. I love to see them in the end!
  9. Kenley's birthday party is officially going to be at Flipz this year. She really wanted to have it there last year but they didn't have any availability that fit our needs last year. She is very excited and can't wait to invite all of her friends from preschool. It should be a great time!!
  10. Kason has another tooth! Actually, he gotten 2 new teeth in the past week or so. Only 2 more to go (besides the 2 & 6 year molars) and he'll have a full set of teeth!

This Blog Is Going Private!

This blog is going private, I will be making the change this weekend....not sure what day. Since I have no clue who all reads my blog I am asking you to send me an email so that I can send you an email invite. This doesn't mean much for you, but you will have to login before you'll be able to see it. I'm sad that I have to do this, but I need to protect myself and family.

Please shoot me an email at flamelessandfabulous@hotmail.com or leave me a comment on here with you email address so that I can get you an invite. I know that there are several of you at Rock Bridge who read and even if I don't know you well, send me an email if you want to keep reading! I will send out the email invitations at the same time the blog goes private! You can still request permission to read after this, but you will have to wait to be approved by me first. Thanks!!

10 on Tuesday!

  1. Ugh...it's only Tuesday?!?! It feels like it should definitely be Thursday, at least! Oh well, we'll keep on chugging alone!
  2. I closed my first Scentsy party last week! Woohooo! Thanks, Mom, for having that party! I have another party going on right now and just ordered another set of testers so I can have more than one party going on at the same time! I already have several parties lined up!
  3. I dropped off my wedding ring last Monday (Labor Day) to have several things done. The main one was having it re sized. It's been practically falling off my finger for a while and I felt it was time. I also asked them to smooth the prongs on the top of it because they were very sharp and to re-dip it. I'm feeling totally naked without it, so I am happy that I should be getting it back soon!
  4. Justin lost his football game this past Saturday. It's the first loss this season, making their record 2-1. Not bad!! They only lost by 3 points and Justin says that they should have won that game. He was a little disappointed, understandingly. Next up, Jeff City! I hope you guys kick some Jay Bird butts!
  5. Work has finally started to slow down. Thank goodness! I am so glad for that! I feel like I can get most things done in a day's time. I only have about a month before it all starts up again!
  6. Kason has started putting 2 word sentences together now. It's so cute!! His favorite, and probably the one heard the most, is 'Don't touch'. His next favorite is 'bye, papa or mama or daddy, or mommy, or sissy'...you get the point! He's learning all kinds of new words everyday now and it is so cool to watch his wheels turning as he's putting everything together!
  7. Another thing about Kason. He is obsessed with trash right now. He loves to throw away his diapers and anything else he can get his hands on! I hear him saying 'trash, trash, trash' ALL THE TIME! We have to really be careful about looking in the trash now too. He's been known to throw away stuff that is not supposed to be in the trash. I've found shoes, toys, sippy cups and even the nightlight from his room in there!
  8. I can't believe it but I am starting to think about Kenley's 5th birthday party. How is my baby going to be 5 years old already??? We're thinking about Flipz right now, but I am also trying to come up with some other options. Anyone have any ideas? Her birthday is November 19th.
  9. Justin and I have decided to stay put in our current house. We don't really want to jump into something right now so we've decided to stay for a while longer. Right now we are looking into refinancing to get a much lower rate than we currently have. I'm hoping this will save us a couple hundred bucks a month.
  10. Hallsville lost a great guy on Sunday. Michael Chandlee was killed in a car accident. While I don't really know Mike, I do know most of his family. He's got several brothers, sisters and cousins that I know well, as well as his dad, Gary, and his grandpa, Willard. I'm so very sorry for loss of Mike. I know that he was a great guy and that he will be missed greatly.

Not So Wordless Wednesday!

Like Father, Like Son....

We keep all of the doors shut down the hallway when Kason is awake to make sure that he's not getting into anything he isn't supposed to. Last night after we got settled in from just getting home from work & preschool, I went back to my bedroom to change clothes. Kason was following right behind me, as always, and started saying 'daddy, daddy' and looking for him in the bed and bathroom. I said "daddy isn't home right now, he's at football". I watched his wheels turn for a minute and then he trotted off down the hallway. A minute or two later he comes back with his toy football! He's a smart little guy who already has a love for football! His daddy was so proud!

We still miss you, Duke!

Five years ago today is when our boy, Duke, went to Dog Heaven. I still remember it like it was yesterday. Justin got home late from football practice that night. We sat in front of the TV eating pizza and M&M's. We even shared with Duke and laughed at funny it was as he chewed them up. Justin and Duke went outside to play ball with the light up ball.....something they did every night. I was pregnant with Kenley at the time, so I laid inside on the couch watching TV. I remember the panic in Justin's voice as he flew through the back door asking where the flashlight was. I said "what's wrong" and he said something I will never forget "Duke's gonna die". I'm pretty sure a pregnant chick as never run so fast as I did at that moment. I ran outside to see what he was talking about. Duke had run into a tree at full speed. We jumped into the truck and loaded him up. I sat in the back with Duke while Justin drove as fast as he could to get us to the animal emergency room. I left the house without my shoes, phone and purse. After some tests, we got the news that his back was broken and had to make the hardest decision ever. He was hurting so badly that we had to let him go. My biggest regret of that night is that I didn't stay with him while he went to sleep. I was so upset and I did not want to see that happen. Although my mom, sister and Sherri were all with him, I should have been with him too. He was my boy and I chose to let him leave the Earth without me.

So, now that I am crying, I'll move on. I hadn't planned on telling that whole story, but that's what my fingers typed. Duke was a Christmas present to me from Justin. I got him in 2002. He was such a little fur ball with giant paws!!! We knew he was going to be a monster! Wish still miss you, Duke! We think about you everyday and wish that you were still around to love our kids. They would have loved you as much as we do! Hope you are having fun in Dog Heaven....give loves to all of our other furry friends there!
For your viewing pleasure, here are some pictures of our boy, Duke. I have lots more that I would love to post, but they are not digital and my scanner isn't hooked up at the moment. This post is taking place of my 10 on Tuesday for this week. Enjoy!
Laying around on his back...this one normal!
