Kenley has been asking for a week to build a snowman, but we didn't have enough snow until yesterday. Justin was home with the kids while I was working and he took Kenley outside while Kason took a nap. The did a pretty good job building this guy, don't you think?

"Not So Wordless Wednesday"
Happy 8 month birthday, Kason (yesterday)!!
How is my baby 8 months old already?? I got to thinking about it and that means that it's only 4 months until he is 1 year old!! Doesn't seem possible! These pictures were taken last night. He was ready for bed in his new warm pj's. I sat down to give him a bottle and medicine (he's sick) and once we got back to his room, he threw up all over me! This is the 3rd time now. Once on Sunday, once Monday night (same scenario), once on Justin yesterday, and then on my again last night. Ugh, I just wish he would get better and stay that way! He went to the doctor yesterday and weighs 19 pounds even!!! It's hard to believe that this is the same baby who had to go in for weight checks for the first couple months because he was so small and not gaining as quickly as they wanted!
Playing with the truck and blocks that he got for Christmas. He loves to bang things, so this was a perfect gift. Oh yeah, he's standing now...on his own. He'll crawl over to things and pull himself up like a pro. He lets go every now and then too. He's gotten pretty well at 'cruisin' too, which means that he'll walk back and forth between things as he's holding on. This morning Justin went to get him up and he was standing in his crib. I've been wondering how long it would take him to figure our that he can stand in there. It won't be long and my baby will be walking! I'm guessing before he's 10 months old!

1. We had a wonderful Christmas! Pictures and a post about it to come...I promise!!
2. Kenley was sick last week. She went to the doctor on Wednesday and got an antibiotic. She's feeling better now, but it was a rough couple days. Now Kason has it. I see a doctor visit in his near future :(
3. I can't believe Christmas has come and gone already! We had 4 Christmas celebrations to go to and had a great time at each one! We took down the tree on Saturday because we had to make room for all the new stuff. We really need a bigger house!
4. I totally forgot a post about Justin's birthday...sorry, honey! Justin had a great birthday though. I might get some pictures up, but who knows!
5. 2009 is almost over! I can't believe how fast the years pass now! As a kid they seem to take F.O.R.E.V.E.R., but the older we get the faster they go. It's amazing really!
6. We have New Years plans this year. My mom is keeping the kids and we are going to a party at our friend, Sally's house. Should be fun! I'm really looking forward to it!!
7. Snow! It's snowing again! I loved waking up on Christmas morning and seeing the snow! I'm ready for it to be gone now though!
8. Christmas and Kenley's birthday have really opened my eyes to how much we need a bigger house! We don't have near the room we need for all of the stuff we have!
9. After working tomorrow, I have a 4 day weekend...YAY!!!

Reindeer Cookies!!
I made these cookies last night for Kenley's preschool party today. She was supposed to help me make them, but when given the choice to help me or go to the Rock Bridge basketball game, so chose the game! She had a great time and I had fun making the cookies!!

10 on Tuesday
1. No 10 on Tuesday last week. I was crazy busy at work and at home, so I didn't have the time to update!
2. Christmas shopping is almost done. I have a few small things left to buy and about 10 hours worth of wrapping to do! The tree looks funny because their isn't one present under it yet!
3. Allyson, I want you to know that I am thinking about you, your mom, and your brother today. It's doesn't seem like it's been 2 years since your Dad passed away. You know we love you and we loved your Dad too!
4. Christmas is 10 days away.....10 DAYS!!!
5. I finally got my Christmas cards in the mail today. I've been trying to get them out for a while, but I just couldn't seem to find the time. YAY!!
6. I'm so excited for Christmas morning. Kenley will going to be super excited to see her princess scooter and princess helmet! Kason is getting a much needed toy box from Santa, although I have a feeling he will be less thrilled about his gift!
7. Congratulations to Jeanette (work friend), Matt, and Nils! Baby Henrik made his way into this world on December 10th. So happy for you guys!! I can't wait to meet the little guy...I just have to figure out when to get by!
8. Kason is all over the place now! Not only did he learn to crawl, but now he's pulling up to stand too! He is all over the house and standing every time we turn around. I'm actually shocked that he has never once tried to get the Christmas tree though!
9. Kason has been sick for the last 3 weeks, but is finally getting better. First it was croup, then a sinus infection. We are now on day 9 of antibiotics and he's starting to feel better. Thank goodness!!
10. Another note about Kason....he's been gaining weight like crazy! At his 6 month check-up on October 30th he weighed 16lbs, 3oz. On November 23rd, first sick visit, he weighed 17lbs, 1oz. Then, on December 7th, second sick visit, he weighed a whopping 18lbs, 8oz!!! He gained 2lbs, 5oz in just 5 weeks! You'd never know that he was such a little guy in the beginning and that he was putting on weight so slowly that I had to take him in for weight checks to make sure he was gaining! Healthy boy!!

10 on Tuesday
1. December 1st already??? Christmas is only 24 days away!
2. Speaking of Christmas....we got the house decorated over the weekend. Christmas tree is up, lights are up outside, wreath on the door. The only thing missing is presents under the tree! I really need to get going!!
3. If you saw my post about Kason's 7 month birthday, you'd see that he is now crawling. It's going to be a real chore to keep him away from that beautiful Christmas tree this year!
4. I have had a sick household lately. Kenley went for her 4 year check-up and ended up on antibiotics, then less than a week later Kason is very sick with croup. He got a steroid shot and is feeling better. On top of that, I was feeling like crap all weekend long. Runny nose, sore throat, congestion. Luckily I am feeling better now too. I hope we all stay that way!
5. Happy birthday, Christina!! Hope you have a wonderful day today!!
6. We had family pictures taken a couple weeks ago and I got them back last week. I'm in love with them. I'll post some of them later this week!
7. Justin's birthday is in a couple weeks, on December 19th. We are going to the casino that night! It's been a long time since I have been and get this....Justin has NEVER been to a casino! I can't wait, we are so excited!!
8. Kason has started to eat a lot of different things now. He's going to be (is) picky just like his big sissy. He won't eat any green veggies, but he loves the orange ones. He has a select few fruits that he'll eat too! He's picky about the puffs, he only likes that banana ones, but he's warming up to the apple flavor too. I hope he's not as bad as Kenley, but who knows.
9. My mom and pops finally got moved into and settled in their new house! I'm so happy they have a new house and it closer to Columbia, in Ashland! Looking forward to many family gathering and visits, mom! Congratulations on your lovely new home!!
10. I love snuggling my girl! She's such a sweetheart when she wants to be. She really can turn from a sweetheart to the devil in .5 seconds....lol!

Happy seven month birthday, Kason!!

Kason turned 7 months old today! Wow!! I can't believe it! I had to take a picture of him in these same pj's that Kenley wore. I put them side by side so you can see the two of them at approx the same age. Cute, huh? Kason has learned to do all kinds of things in the last 7 months. He learned to roll both ways, said Dada for the first time on November 22 (still waiting for Mama!), and learned to sit up unassisted. The most recent news is that Kason learned to crawl too!! He was army crawling for a while, but he's pretty much got the knees and hands crawling down now! He's a mover too....I have a feeling he'll be an early walker because he always wants to stand! He's even tried to pull himself up several times and is almost successful at it! We're in trouble now!

In other news....Kason got his first tooth TODAY! It broke the skin finally. It's his bottom, left tooth and the bottom right is coming right behind it! In the picture above, he's chewing on a teething biscuit. He was such a mess that he went right to the bathtub when he finished, but obviously, he absolutely loved it!

1. My children! They are happy, healthy and the joys of my life. I couldn't have asked for better kids!
2. My wonderful husband! He is my soul mate and I am so lucky to have found him when I was 13 years old. He works extremely hard to take care of our family and I am so thankful for that. He's not only a great husband and father, but he's my best friend. I love him more than anything!
3. My family! I have the best mom in the whole wide world! I'm so thankful to have her in my life and my kids lives. In addition to my wonderful mom, I have a fantastic step-dad, and 2 sisters who I love dearly!

5. My friends! Justin and I have some of the best friends anyone could ask for! We have so much fun hanging out with our friends and have no idea what we would do without them!
6. My job. I have a great job with great coworkers who are now my friends! I'm lucky to have my full pay and the flexibility to spend time with my family/friends when I want!
7. My health. I know I could take better care of myself, but I am pretty healthy and I am thankful for that!
8. The snooze button! I love that extra little bit of sleep!

Happy birthday to my sweet, sweet baby girl!
I honestly cannot believe that my first 'baby' is 4 years old today. I feel like it was only months ago that I was anxiously awaiting her arrival. Kenley has grown up so fast!! We've gone from the tiny baby that was just finding her voice to a sassy little girl who never shuts up!! She's learned so much and brought SO much joy to our lives....I can't even explain it. I got teary eyed just looking through all the old pictures of her and her life yesterday.
To celebrate Kenley's birthday we will have dinner and maybe a cake tonight and she will open her presents from Justin and I tonight. Tomorrow Kenley will take cupcakes to preschool for a little party and will then go see Dr. Paula for her 4 year check up. She will get her kindergarten shots. We've talked about her getting shots, but I wonder how it will go. Friday night Kylie and Maddie will be coming over for a slumber party! Justin will be gone and Kason goes to sleep at 6:30, so it will just be us girls! I think I'm as excited as she is!! Saturday we have the big birthday at Chuck E Cheese. Kenley loves the place, so she can hardly wait! I'll have lots of pictures to share too!!
Since I didn't have this blog until 2008, I thought I would share my birth story. Here goes!
On November 18th, 2005 I went into the hospital around noon to have a pain checked out. I had been having some issues with my blood pressure and sugar in my urine, as well as RAPID weight gain. The doctor was keeping a close eye on me prior to this. When I called about the pain, Dr. Womack told me to just come in to have it checked out. I was hooked up to the monitors for a few hours before I saw my doctor. The monitor was showing regular contractions and my blood pressure got higher with each one. Once I saw Dr. Womack, she checked me and told me that I was 3 cm dilated and that I was staying to have a baby!! I was honestly a bit shocked, but SO ready to meet my little lady! After making a few calls to Justin and my mom, we moved into a birthing room where I was hooked to pitocin to get things rolling. Everything was pretty calm for a while, so she came in to break my water. That really got things going! I started to have pretty good and painful contractions, so I asked for an epidural. Let me just say that the epidural experience was a horrible experience. If you've never had one....the have a little tiny needle that they stick in your back several times to numb the area before using the 'big' needle. The anesthesiologist could not seem to get it into the correct place and I was stuck in the back more than 40 times. I was literally a human pin cushion and had problems/pain in that area for at least a month afterwards! Once the epidural was in, it was only working on one side. It took a while to get things working correctly, but once it did....it was Heaven! I was able to sleep for a few hours (it was nighttime by this point) before I was ready give birth!
Approx 23 hours after checking into the hospital, I was 10 cm dilated and ready to meet my baby girl! Justin was by my side as I pushed for 40 minutes. I gave birth at 11:30 am on November 19th, 2005 to the most beautiful baby girl I had ever seen before in my life! She was perfect in every single way, including the cone head she had since she was in the birth canal for so long. I remember Justin asked Dr. Womack if her head was going to stay that way....I'm pretty sure he was freaked out by it! We were all instantly in love and still are, probably more so, to our beautiful baby girl! We couldn't be happier to have our baby girl. We love you more than life itself, Kenley Paige Conyers, and hope you have the best 4th birthday a girl could dream of!
