What we've been up to!

The summer has been a busy one for us and I've found it hard to keep my blog up to date. Tuesday's tend to get away from me and instead of just blogging when I get a chance, I put it off until the next week and then it gets away from me too. So I thought this would be a good way to update on what's been going on and I promise I will try to do better at updating!

In general: We are settling into our new house now. We've finally got things hung on the walls and it feels like home. We LOVE it so much. There are tons of kids in the neighborhood and Kenley has made a new friend, Payton, across the street. We have other friends who live just down the road from us and we plan to have many get together's with them and their kids now.

Justin: He's busy as ever mowing. It's been nice that he's out of school now though, so he's been home on the weekends and not stuck mowing all weekend long. He's taking care of about 25 lawns, so that really keeps him busy. He's working on setting a weekday schedule for working now and it planning to make me jealous by taking the kids to the pool as often as possible. When he not working or making me jealous he is usually working in the yard at home. He's put a lot a time and effort into making our new yard as nice as our old yard. We've only lived there for a few months and it's looking so much better than it did!

Kenley: She's been a busy girl. She started T-ball a couple of months ago and she's been loving it. She's met a few new friends and she's really enjoyed playing. She's done a really good job too. It was funny to see the first game and now to see how far they have all come. They really 'get it' now and play the game. Her last game is Saturday, and although she has really enjoyed playing, she's ready to be done (and so am I)! She's also been busy with dance class. Her dance recital is this Saturday as well and she's VERY excited for it. She loves getting on the big stage and showing off what she's learned. I think her favorite part is being able to wear makeup though!

This summer at preschool has been fun. They swim every Wednesday and take lots of field trips. She loves the trips and loves the swimming even more. This year she actually decided she wanted to take swimming lessons as well. This is HUGE because she had a bad experience a couple of years ago and would freak out every time I mentioned swim lessons. I guess it helps that 2 of her best friends as preschool are taking the lesson too. She had her first one yesterday and was excited to tell me that she learned how to float on her back, swim with her face in the water, and keep herself afloat by kicking her legs. I'm so proud of her! She's very excited to start kindergarten in the fall. She hopes to have the same teacher as her new friend, Emma!

Kason: My wild man!! He is just as ornery as ever! Lately he has really becoming 'Mr. Independent' and doesn't want help with anything. His favorite saying at the moment is 'I do it'. Ha! I guess that is the way to be though. He is also a little monkey. He climbs on EVERYTHING and says often 'I a monkey'. I worry about the broken bones and stitches that are surely soon to come! We've been talking to him about potty training and although he will use the little potty every now and then, he wants nothing to do it with. I won't push it yet. Aside from being a boy on the go, he's such a little snuggle bug. He loves to snuggle his momma on the couch and often uses that as an excuse to not go to bed because he knows it works many times. When Kenley goes to kindergarten in the fall, Kason will be taking her place at the preschool 3 days a week. Although I know he will do great and will learn so much, I have mixed feelings about him starting. I can't believe he's old enough already. My baby is no baby anymore and that makes me sad.

Jessi: I had my gallbladder removed on June 1st and I am feeling great now. The surgery was laparoscopic and the recovery wasn't too bad, although, I did have an allergic reaction to the betadine and broke out in a horrible, itchy rash all over my belly. My recovery went really fast and I was back to work only 5 days after the surgery! I'm feeling better than ever now and I haven't had any of the same problems that I was having before the surgery. Other than that, there hasn't been much going on with me. I've been busy keeping up with the house and laundry, as well as carting Kenley around to her dance and t-ball. I'll be glad after this weekend because it will all be over and we'll be able to take it easy for the summer. We're planning to take the kids to the zoo and camping, so both of those things should be fun!!
