I'm just back from Kansas City for my great Uncle Woody's funeral. It was a very nice service all around and the preacher was great. Since Uncle Woody was a WWII vet, the Honor Guard was there and did the whole military funeral thing...including the firing of the rifles and playing "Taps" on the trumpet. I did really well considering I'm pretty overly emotional right now, but I lost it when they started playing Taps and it continued until the finished folding the flag and presenting it to his sons. We were able to get together at my cousin's house afterwards for a couple hours as well. It was really nice to visit with some family that i don't get to see as often as I'd like to.
RIP Uncle Woody....You will be missed.
